I can't believe that with 8 people voting to 1 that they didn't think to split the vote with 1 vote on someone else just in case Cara had an idol.......
Yep this!

They prob forgot that Cara would stuff it up despite the fact she's being the one voted for. 🤣

Loved George insulting Emmett after writing his name down and speaking loud enough for everyone to hear. Classic. :ROFLMAO:

Bit surprised Cara didn't play the idol based on what we were shown, but it was obviously edited to look like George was in more trouble than he was. I think Hayley made the right move - George is making too many enemies on the jury to win this, she would be my tip for the win at this stage.

Yep my wife was yelling "oh my God why are you abdoning George now" at that point to Cara; but yeah obviously the edit misdirected us a little bit. She must have done something afterwards to convince Cara/George she was indeed voting with them.

I also wonder what the edit has done to Wai? Makes her seem like a non entity. I wonder if she has had more input into moves and strategies than they make out? Or if she has just simply been carried the whole time.

Love, love, loved this episode! Queen Hayley using her brain.

Hayley definitely thinking about her end game. Pretty sure she can beat George/Cara/Wai in a challenge as proved tonight compared to Emmett/Andrew/Flick/Dani. Once that group makes the top 4, can't see Wai/Cara winning so it's down to George & Hayley and George has probably burned too many bridges with the jury so sort of like (Russel Hantz from US surivvor) surely Queen Hayley makes it all the way to take the crown!

Funny moment of the night for me (other than George yelling out the Emmett vote.)

Wai stacking her tiles horizontally. 🤣🤣🤣
And she's meant to be the smartest of them all! 🤣

Wai seems like a passenger to me. She doesn’t trust George, and is surprisingly good at puzzles, but that’s about all I’ve seen from her.

I could not understand what she was trying to do with that deck of cards (stacking the cards flat rather than on their edge), and her “strategy” in the previous immunity challenge (running up the hill to collect puzzle pieces) seemed to require basically everyone else to drop dead in order for her to make it through. She conserved so much energy that she may as well have not participated.

I’m a bit disappointed that Emmett has gone. He was by far the best remaining physically (I think he’s been intentionally performing at <100% in a number of challenges, and won a high proportion of those in which he tried), and had a simple but decent basic strategy of building a large alliance, and trying to encourage everyone to stick to plans, be calm, and just eliminate the opposition progressively. He’s not a strategic genius, but he doesn’t have to be, and he showed more strategic nous than I thought he had in him at times, and even dialed down some of the less likeable parts of his personality in recent weeks. I think he’s a loss.

Amazing that the biggest physical threats are probably now Andrew and Hayley, both from the Brains tribe.

Some of the players on each side could only be very loosely termed Brains or Brawn, from what we’ve seen. If you’re going to make that the theme for the season, I would have thought you would cast it on that basis, but it seems like they’ve cast it, and then decided on the theme and therefore the composition of the tribes, with some potentially dodgy labels applied as a result.

Physical threats are always going to be voted out when they don't win immunity. The fear is that they'd just keep winning and reach final 2. Ultimately you wouldn't want to be up against Emmett in a brutal final physical challenge and for your fate to be decided by 1 person. Hence why I'm not a fan of final 2. Final 3 at least gives another person some power on who goes makes it thru to the finale. The only way physical threats can win, is to have other physical threats around them as shields. Had Simon made merge, it definitely would have helped Emmett's game in the long run.

Agree with your assessments on the classifications of a few.

Cara being a real estate agent doesn't exactly seem brainy, demonstrated by her failed split vote when Daini she voted for the wrong person. Benny from Brawn was also a real estate agent and was such a terrible player.

Andrew doesn't seem brainy at all... for me when he had to ask Wai how to split the vote was when I thought he wasn't particularly brainy.

Joey probably could have been classed as a brawn too with his physical background. Same with Baden being a cyclist.

Dani has also been very strategic and could have been cast as a brain. Has had some good plays but also a few blunders. Her social awareness and reading the situation prob doesn't help her case in being classed as a brain as she almost went home twice.

I thought Simon was pretty smart too in the way he spoke during cofessionals and apparently he was good at puzzles. Telling people about 2 of his idols probably doesn't help his case lol.

Disappointed they didn't have a beauty tribe. Emmett could have led this tribe from George's comments last night at tribal 🤣

Re the way Wai stacked her tiles, I could maybe understand if she did 3 or 4 tiles like that to build a solid base/foundation, but she just had so many!
I just couldn't stop laughing. Surely she could see there was no way she'd have enough tiles even before the challenge started. 🤣🤣🤣

Random fact:

With Dani winning the car, it's actually a curse. As no one who has ever won the car has gone on to win the title of sole survivor. (Including US versions)

I figured Wai's strategy must have been to move all the tiles to that side first, then build up, so there is less side to side movement. It clearly didn't work whatever she was doing.

Cara wasting her idol. Tsk tsk.

Also glad the urns are gone.
Lucky she has such a good ability to sense these things!

Equally I would have played it for George in her position. There didn’t seem to be any indication at all (from what we saw) that she would be targeted, but there was quite a bit to indicate George would be. Wai also wants to get rid of George, but seems fine with Cara.

Had I been in Cara’s position, I think I would have been mindful of the risk of wasting the idol to protect George (especially given mixed comments at tribal), but would have done it to eliminate the risk he went home. Ie I think it was a risk worth taking. She would have been in huge trouble if he had been eliminated.

I think her mindset was she believed Hayley & Wai had flipped and thus could have gone 2 on George and 2 on her, making it a split vote. Hence one of her or George would be on the chopping block. She would have effectively gone home if she played the idol for George which she previously did earlier in the season.

Must admit Aussie Survivor starting to lose its shine for me. Last two episodes fairly boring.

Wai not bothering with the immunity challenge Monday night, and George giving up in both Monday night's challenge plus tonight's reward challenge. Does not sit well with me. At least compete for goodness sake.

Final five and three of them (Hayley, Cara and Flick) have all been voted out already. Hmm. Can't help but feel that the producers have gone too far this year, Idols have barely been hidden and advantages galore.

Still want Hayley to win since she has made most of the moves this series.

I can't see anyone but Hayley winning at this point. Flick if she somehow makes final 2 is the only one who would, but I don't see her getting there. I actually admire how George has managed to survive this far despite everyone wanting him gone, but his social game is awful, so nobody will vote for him to win. Wai and Cara have zero chance - I expect one to make final 2 and get smashed, probably Wai.

Agree with most of your points. It hasn't been the best season.

The car curse was real!

Yeah a bit vanilla seeing as we're at the pointy end of the season. Having 3 episodes a week is a bit of survivor overload. Australian Survivor has had way too many twists this season. However I was a fan of tonight's challenge... more of these obstacle type challenges rather than the endurance ones are a bit more exciting. Normally I'm not a fan of anyone being voted out and then coming back to win it, however like you said Hayley's moves have just been amazing and she bloody well deserves it. This is Hayley's game to lose now.

US Survivor will be much better. Debuts very soon and only once a week. Hopefully with a more even spread with the confessionals.
