GEELONG defender Lachie Henderson has announced his retirement and untried category B rookie Stefan Okunbor has been delisted.
Henderson, 31, finishes his career on 206 games after 14 years in the AFL.
Originally drafted by Brisbane with pick No.8 in the 2007 NAB AFL Draft, Henderson was traded to Carlton after two years at the Lions before joining the Cats at the end of 2015.

His career appeared over at the end of 2019 when he was delisted, but he was offered a rookie lifeline and rejuvenated himself to play a further 35 games, including the 2020 Toyota AFL Grand Final.

“Lachie has made a significant contribution since joining the club in 2016,” Geelong’s general manager of football Simon Lloyd said.
“He was a strong clubman and always focused on improving his teammates. Lachie could always be depended on and helped the club to the finals in each of his seasons with us."
Meanwhile, Okunbor has returned to Ireland after the years at the club.
“Stefan showed great desire and commitment to become a better player. He was limited by injury and the lack of games through the shutdown. He is now back in Ireland and we hope he can enjoy a successful Gaelic football career," Lloyd said.

Ridley already a bit undervalued.
Don't know if this super beneficial, but surely it can't hurt right?
Can't have Kelly and Redman both pinching his kick outs next season, would be a disaster haha
Seem to recall J Kelly leading the Crows for kick outs in 2019 and 2020. Unsure about 2021 and later today I will edit my post, to attach the links to those articles.

He definitely did for a while.

Then they started to count towards the stat sheet and BSmith took them all back.

iirc McPherson was their designated kickout player for 2021.

Chayce Jones began to take some of them (a decent portion) once he returned to the team as a defender at around the middle of the season.

Thing was, he was the only bloke in the competition who seemed to not play on from them. Infuriating as a SC Keeper League owner of Chayce, his stats and SC score would've got an almighty boost if he played on from those.

SYDNEY has opted not to match Carlton's offer for restricted free agent George Hewett, meaning the Swan is now a Blue.
The AFL has confirmed Sydney will receive an end-of-second-round pick as compensation.
The Blues lodged the paperwork for what is believed to be a four-year offer for the 25-year-old on Friday afternoon, with the Swans taking less than 24 hours of their three-day decision period to make the call.

Hewett has played 120 games in the red and white since being taken with pick No.32 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft.
Although he did not make his debut until 2016, as a forward, Hewett has become a regular in the senior team, playing as a tagging, ball-winning midfielder, and a lockdown defender.

He played 21 games in 2021, including the one-point elimination final loss against Greater Western Sydney.
It'll be a new-look Carlton midfield next year, with the Blues currently working to secure Docker Adam Cerra, who has nominated Ikon Park as his preferred destination.

Tough compo decision.
Seems like they got it about right.

Who isn't a Blue? Seems they pick a new team every trade season.

I mentioned similar on the previous page. The Blues seem to bring in a lot of players. I assume they are still under the cap, but I would be saving up for Walsh's next contract instead of paying out big bucks for a lot of players they have brought in recently. I assume Cerra won't be cheap either, hopefully he works out a bit better than Williams. Saad wasn't great either.
