Darcy/Reeves 2022
Reeves could be another name to throw in the mix at his price (he should get a discount only playing 5 games), he did look to be getting a lot more of it than McEvoy in games they played together, but it is probably a year or two early to be considered a SC premium though. You would need to upgrade him at some point.

There does seem multiple viable options to starting Gawn and Grundy in 2022. Too early to say, but I'm considering going cheap in at least one of the ruck positions and spending up elsewhere. Darcy/Reeves is not the worst starting combination if Reeves is the clear #1 ruck, depends if the Hawks trade in an experienced replacement (seems unlikely). Ceglar is still contracted, so he could well still be there too.

Sounds like the Dogs might be looking at Tim O'Brien from the Hawks as a replacement. Hawks seem to be going for draft picks rather than established players. Not sure if you have any intel on players we are targeting/looking at trading?

Nah it’s all pretty quiet at the moment. As you say, it should just be draft picks and maybe a Max Lynch type in, been some whispers around him, to add to that ruck depth with Reeves going forward, especially if Ceglar goes.

O’Brien is as good as gone from what I’ve heard, PTA have been into him for a while, so hopefully the Dogs interest can maybe help sneak us a half decent compensation pick.

Good luck to Tim. He got the 23 but hasn't been able to live up to the potential that he potentially has.

I'm not convinced it is good business from either side. Pies are largely trading out of the 2022 draft to secure one player this season (he would want to be good!), Suns are pretty much trading away two fourth round picks over two years for no gain (probably a loss based on where you would expect the Pies to finish).

Pies could salvage something from it through other trades maybe, but think it's a bad trade for the Suns. Guess they want to give Clarkson a bunch of trade picks to reshape the list when he is coaching them after next season...

The Pies are all about the points needed to match bids for their father/son picks this year, right?

Pretty sure they have committed to signing Daicos already, they definitely will have enough points to do so now, and probably a few later trades in hand. They could still do alright from the deal, seems a lot to give up for one player, but guess they had to. Impressive junior numbers for Daicos, so he might be worth it. Not sure who else they need the points for.

Still don't like it from the Suns end. But nobody cares about the Suns.
