@Tails just further on this stuff…

The cap is basically there to choose Price or Wright.
Given 1 is out there’s no need for the cap.

The Worlds comp wasn’t capped, you could only pick certain players by number category.
1-8, 9-32, 33-beyond (May have those brackets wrong btw)

I have introduced the bonus and was hoping for some strategy, as all selections are in I can say that’s what I have got. Some have kept maximum bonus chances alive, some have tweaked. It got the results I was looking for.

I agree this isn’t a perfect product. I have found the -1 legs an absolute failure at leg gameplay. I’m working on ways to improve this going forward…the problem, some have benefitted with their selections this round by not losing as many legs or -1s, and some have not.
I kept all my bonus chances alive…which is zero, because all 6 of my starting selections have lost.

I just played around with the scoring table. If you didn't lose points for a negative leg here's the results. I'm undecided on where I sit on this, I haven't deciphered it all, just showing you on pure won legs and peripherals what the players would have scored. The downside to those that have won matches easily is, they are then penalised less chances at peripherals for shorter matches.

This is why I brought up the in between method of scoring +/-0.5

Edit: Disregard James Wade, he would finish on 6

I don't have a problem with the current scoring. As you mentioned, switching this scoring around favours those who win or even lose in close matches, as there's no penalty points and they have more attempts at 180's / checkouts. Less incentive to pick those who are expected to win easily - currently it's not a bad strategy to pick these favoured players to avoid the set loss penalties.

Might be to do with my current standing, we'll see if I feel the same way this time tomorrow. :)
