So I would have won by 38.5 points if I stuck with my original selection (switched Chisnall VC to Smith VC - figured whoever won that would make the final). Great.

Still happy with a top 3 result.

Current selections:
J Cullen (C)
J Clayton (VC)
D Chisnall
J De Sousa
Could not have scripted it any better. Big fan of Cullen over the past few seasons thanks to him putting in terrific displays against Anderson at the 2018 Matchplay and Van Gerwen at the 2020 World Championships in which he came agonisingly short. Terrific to see him win a major and the emotions both from him and his father given recent events. Hopefully he receives a spot in the Premier League and continues climbing up the rankings.

@Tails just further on this stuff…

The cap is basically there to choose Price or Wright.
Given 1 is out there’s no need for the cap.

The Worlds comp wasn’t capped, you could only pick certain players by number category.
1-8, 9-32, 33-beyond (May have those brackets wrong btw)

I have introduced the bonus and was hoping for some strategy, as all selections are in I can say that’s what I have got. Some have kept maximum bonus chances alive, some have tweaked. It got the results I was looking for.

I agree this isn’t a perfect product. I have found the -1 legs an absolute failure at leg gameplay. I’m working on ways to improve this going forward…the problem, some have benefitted with their selections this round by not losing as many legs or -1s, and some have not.
Been off-line since I lasted posted and don't even know the results yet - will scroll down shortly ...

- I didn't mean that some teams will end up with "0" players as they still have 4 trades to make ...

What I was lamenting is that I had 3 players get through but two were playing each other ...
- So if I wanted to have a player in each portion of the draw then I had to make a choice between those two players ...
- It took me hours to split them and almost just kept them both and was going to fade the Sousa/Whitlock match but that looked too risky in the end ..
- Salary cap wise though I could have filled both those portions if say "5" players were allowed etc and kept them both ...

That's the strategy that I'm trying to create though. I'll take my choices for example. I got through with 4 players, all were playing each other.
I decided to dump the 2 that I thought would lose their matches, which backfired when form held true and Chizzy got it done. I also based my VC selection in Clayton around the fact that I couldn't access the bonus points from this selection. It was daunting taking on Price with such heavy ownership and in a non salary capped draw because of the loss of Wright. That's every competition we face though, we can't have them all.

With the announcement of the final 4 Premier League participants, I will open...

EVENT #2 - Cazoo Premier League

The event takes a different shape this year in that each of the 16 weeks will be an 8 player knockout tournament, with rotation so that everyone will play each other twice. The makeup of the extra 2 matches on Night 8 and Night 16 will see the knockout tournament fixtures based off the league tables. Ranking points for this event will see the weekly winner receiving 5 points, the runner-up 3 points, and the semi-finalists 2 points.

Cazoo Premier League.png

The details around team selection is as follows:

*Player cost is simply PDC Order of Merit earnings.
*Each week I will ask that participants create a new 4 player team based upon the bracket draw of that weeks tournament.
*Any 4 player combination, not containing Price and Wright in the same entry, will be accepted. So no need to get the calculators out.
*The above table shows the scoring methods for the tournament. Negative legs are off the table. The bonus has been replaced by the official points the PDC is handing out to the players based on their finishing result. These points have also replaced the need for 3 win points being handed out.
*Captain x2 only. Doubling applied to all scoring methods. Changes may be made from week to week. Default captaincy will revert to highest valued player if not stipulated.
*Should there be a withdrawal during a tournament, that is the luck of the draw, and no replacement player or points will be awarded.

LOCKOUTS:
Each lockout will be Friday morning AEDT. (Time to be confirmed when released. Given past history I would imagine 0600hrs)

Entries can be simply posted in the thread or via PM to myself. If a participant chooses to PM their entry it will be disclosed after lockout has closed.

I will update with this weeks bracket draw and time when this information is released.

Good luck.

Mmm .. and that is why I don't think it truely rewards those for successfully picking them to make it through ....

- anyway .... it's not a biggy and I'm on a learning curve ...

Edit: but I do have a suggestion that could overcome this:

- What if each player got bonus points for each round they make it through ... how many I have no idea ...
- Just a thought .. been a very long day for me ...

Edit 2: I see you might be heading in that path ...
