Biggest thing with the North guys will be whether or not Noble pulls the hand brake off or not not so much how frequently they take kick ins, they really just stuffed around possessing the footy last year and it was SC points gold for Hall and Ziebell.
Completely agree - I am very interested to see if North change or tweak their style this year so a big watch with their preseason. Haven’t seen any articles yet indicating if they are going to be more direct this year, early days though.

I might re think my Crisp selection on the rumours/news Pendles and Daicos could be at half back. Crisp scores better in defence rather than mid, no? FWIW I think Pendles is suited to mid rather than half back, he lacks penetration and ball speed with his kick.

With some concerns/ doubts about how many decent defender rookies we are going to have this season, I am looking at underpriced D5 options (I am certain to take 4 defender premiums) with solid job security/ lucrative scoring role/ potential low end keeper or at worst a late upgrade.

Guy that appeals the most is George Hewett - last year the swans played him as a defender to start with & he struggled, it wasn’t until he moved back into playing his preferred defensive midfield role that he found form. In the ten games last year where Hewett won 20 possessions or more, his average was 90.8 in SuperCoach. The vast majority of these games were when Hewett was used in his preferred midfield role.

These midfield scores reflect his 2019 season where he played as a defensive minded midfielder. He averaged 88 in SuperCoach and scored six tons and seven additional scores over 80.

He has been playing midfield in the scratch matches at Carlton, they have recruited him for this role / taking over from Ed Curnow it appears.

At 399K with Def/Mid classification, I think he is worthy of consideration if we don’t have much confidence in the back rookies on the field - at the moment I don’t mind the look of him at D5 & Rowell at M5 pending preseason games.

I personally don't think there's enough upside to his price, he'd want to average over 95 to make him worthwhile for me.

I was just thinking about this a few moments ago and was looking at a team with Sicily at D5 and Coleman D6 with a spread of rookies through the midfield. Just posted it in the rookie thread actually.

Not sure I have the brass monkeys to start it but on my count there's 15 keepers potentially.

I like Hewett and I think he's number go North this year

North Melb.
yeah it was the year before I was thinking about where his start to the season went 156, 126, 88 and 112
I started him that year.

It sucked that he went down but he had increased in price by nearly $100k when he needed to be traded. So in two rounds he nearly made as much as a lot of rookies.

Think I jumped him to a premium mid who had already slipped ~$30k. Insta upgrade!

How does Coffield's injury affect Hunter Clark.... safe to assume no move to the midfield now? any chance he might benefit in his defensive role?

Coleman and RIoli are my two favourite guys under 400k down back. Hewett, Blakey, Campbell, Bowey, Ruscoe, Day and a couple of others are firmly on the watch list for their roles and what not.

Coleman definitely my favourite as far as pricing and scoring potential combination.
