You could throw in Powell there as well and I know people are looking for Simpkin to click for an entire season and go 110 at some point.
As others have said, rookies don't count. If they are there, pick them (JHF and Goater). Some watchers say TT is our most naturally skilled midfielder and I think last year he was starting to believe it. Huge breakout chance.
Phillips is close IMO, if he was that lower $200k range I think you'd pick him much more easily. As it is, he needs to be around the ball - questions as to whether Greenwood and JHF gobble up the slack will be answered in pre-season hopefully.
Yeah Powell was one of the ones I alluded to. His first season was quietly spectacular and he showed all the makings of a fantasy stud, would not be shocked if he takes a huge leap.
Hardest thing with North is balancing all their midfielders.
Phillips I've covered up above.
I personally think Greenwood is there to play forward and a break in case of emergency mid if the kids are getting beaten up.
I haven't heard it confirmed but assume Cunners is out for the season unfortunately.
Jed Anderson is a sneaky fantasy option in the right role but if I was North I wouldn't be playing him midfield over the younger guys because he's just a limited player compared to what they can be. I think he's similar to Greenwood, if they're getting bullied he goes in to throw his weight around.
Simpkin is a stud. Another that will hopefully put it all together.
LDU finally seemed to get it last year and was genuinely starting to work at an AFL level, be interesting to see if he's finally built a tank this year as he was still blowing up horrendously early in games last year. Extremely talented though and has game breaking potential. Could be similar to Petracca in that it takes 5 years for him to really get how good he can be but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he makes a similar jump in the next 2 seasons.
Thomas is an exceptional talent, reminds me more of Goodes, midfield version, than anyone I've seen in his ability to mark high, move so fluidly, kicks well, not afraid to tackle and just ability to go from inside to outside with sidesteps that very few can make. I thought he was going to waste his talent until about halfway through last year and the penny just dropped with the most resounding echo and he just hit a gear that few can play at. I'm so hopeful he'll continue on that trajectory and not regress back towards the player he was prior to that. One of the great things about Thomas is his ability to play in space makes him a natural to start on the wing and then push in as the extra midfielder, similar to how Berry operated at Brisbane or Kelly at GWS a lot of the time.
JHF will take minutes but I think he'll play high half forward mostly to start out. Will be a matter of time before he demands more and more minutes though, genuine round 13 trade target for mine.
Then you've got Lazzaro, Turner, Zurhaar, Polec, Hayden, Scott, Taylor and Stephenson who'd all love to push through there also in some form or another.
To be fair, I've named 8 separately here, of those I think Anderson/Greenwood will be part time and Thomas can play separate from the centre, so probably enough minutes to go around for the younger guys if they demand it. Simpkin also has great forward skills and Powell I expect also plays more of a wing role.
