I wonder if there’s any link between Heeney being a free agent and Sydney finally saying they’ll play him in the midfield?

If you were a rival club, I would have thought more mid time would be a key part of your pitch.

I've always wondered if Heeney actually wants more mid time ....

- Obviously he is a gun that can play anywhere but to me he is best in open space on a lead ...
- To me not many can defend him in that role ...

I'm not sold on DeGoey
The fact he’s been training with the forwards and apparently spending the majority of match sim up forward means he has left my team.

If he was guaranteed to play majority mid then I would start him but alas that does not appear to be the case.

Throw in the likelihood of him getting injured and/or doing something idiotic off the field and it doesn’t feel too bad moving him on.

That being said, if he spends the majority of the practice matches as a mid then he will be right back into calculations as a starting pick despite his flaws.

Surprised we're into February and no one's been pumping a 2021 Tex-style mid-priced Key Forward for the Dimmawits/Cloke move.

For what it's worth, one of the King brothers could be fun (disclaimer, I would never do it). Feel like Naughton just goes missing too much.
Dont think there will be one this year, could see a world where Cameron or McKay go huge at that 400 odd range but nobody would start them.

So who gets the gig at GC now King is out for the year?
Probably the only way it would really be fantasy relevant is the following two scenarios:

Chol filling the spot - Means less ruck time, means more ruck time for Witts.
Lukosius filling the spot - Completely sinks him as a fantasy option but might open more rebounding work for the guy who gets the rebounding role instead.

Tend to agree with @Leroy that any other scenario is just going to be a nothing role, probably someone like Jeffrey last year who managed a whopping 26 average across his 4 games.

North Melb.
Mitch Lewis? Coming off a bag of 8 in an intra-club. :p

...I'm actually semi tempted to pick him as a fun pick, but it definitely wouldn't be in SC (way too risky). Hawks seem to be playing a more direct, faster game style this preseason rather than the possession footy game style so many other clubs play. Might catch a few opposition teams off guard before they wake up to it, and one of their forwards could get off to a flyer in early rounds... although it is more likely they cop a few beltings, I know.
Ir was a three hour match sim, which isn't necessarily game exact. In that he kicked a goal every 22 min or so.

It might be more noteworthy if he didn't.

Is there any data for example , total goals kicked in a season by a key forward and there season supercoach average.

Only $ 127,400.00 , a warm body could be a lot better than a dead body.

Might have stronger JS than Baldwin , Comben Hollands , the 3 D/F's etc etc

I wasn't suggesting him, I was using him as an example of how bad the supply to the Suns forwards is. King averaged just 53 and he's a very good talent.

I hope I'm not picking whoever it is because it's a horrible role and you want better. Not sure the JS is good either, they've got a few options there and King was a huge investment that they're terrified of losing so he was always playing when fit but the replacements don't have that to guarantee them games, I reckon there will be zero job security to go with the terrible scoring potential.

He is on my GCS watch list (only have 8 or so) and I think only one looks likely for Best 22.

My apologies for getting over excited about the prospect of a possible playing cheap rookie 😉
