Despite some reservations on Sicily, the concerns on Dawson saw a switch to Sicily, particularly if he took all the kick ins whilst he was on the ground. Then I saw these stats this morning and he had 1 kick in........hmmmmmm.

Benefit of Sicily I get to 12 premiums although not to the quality of some teams on this site, who have a true premium over Sicily or 4 midfielders vs my 3.

However, I think the question of structures comes down to not rookies playing, it is which ones you want to run with. At least from the weekend, SDK, Aller, Cooper, and other cheapies keep popping up, scoring somewhat questionable. Maybe there is a Jordan amongst that group. I do hope Paddy McCartin or Hinge play so we can have that 160-180k defender.

Benefit of Sicily and Hewett is it gives you alot more cash to stack lines elsewhere, whether or not they'll actually score well enough to be considered genuine premiums is another story.

Nah, good point. In this particular case, it was because I thought he looked ok - was around the ball a lot, got a bit of it, but in a way that didn't look like it was going to score well, e.g. handballs and ineffective disposals (ball was to a 50/50 and spilled).
So long as it travelled at least 40 metres to that contest, it's effective. 40 metres to an opponent in space is still a clanger though

Probably 25%.

Would have preferred a quiet 70, been locked into my side since the beginning, ah well.
In the same position and it’s gonna hurt a lot.

He’s not gonna score 100s every week but will make us a lot of money very fast, I had been saying that I was very confused as to how he was in very few teams so a correction was always going to be on the cards

That's a dangerous thought process for me - you can lose a lot of ground with these mid-price players week in week out just plodding along whilst others stack their teams with high scoring premiums. They're hard to offload when you have bigger problems on other lines and rookie trades and cash generation needed so you can get caught up whether it's best to generate that cash or trade that underperforming premium, cash gen always takes priority and you find you get caught holding these guys for the season like many did with Taranto last year in the mids.

This is why Ive always been predominantly a Guns and Rookies coach, happy to miss the odd value pick that hits if it allows me to avoid the 5 that don't.

But last year 20 mids averaged higher than the leading defender and 25 mids averaged higher than the leading forward!
So it begs the question?
Midfield more than ever is a line you have to get right or you're going to be in trouble, just so many points coming from those guys these days, the days of riding out a value pick at M7/M8 are long gone IMHO.

True, but I'm not sure it's as simple as that when you look at cash generation for rookies over each line. There's no doubt rookies will dictate for me where I stack my lines even to the point that Preuss playing round 1 might even see me only start 3 premium mids so I can squeeze hm to the bench to also load 4 keeper forwards
