I am still thinking over the issues around the best starting squad strategy, but for the moment I am on a different/divergent line of thought.
If we go back to Post #166 we can see that last year Supercoach Mumma won with an season total score of 53,859.
I have done some maths (workings below - pls check) and found that this requires an average contribution of just over 103 ppg for every player for every round. Obviously the winner is going to set a hot pace, but that's maybe a little higher than I was expecting.

Your maths looks right to me.
In the past I’ve seen people view this as an argument for mid pricers (eg rookies won’t score anywhere near 103, but a good midpricer could).
Another way to look at it is that you need to get the guys averaging well above 103 into your side, and quickly, to bring up the overall average - so it largely comes back to the question of cash generation again.

Same leader again this round with ABs Runners holding first with 1274.
I often looking at the leading teams and wonder whether they actually giggle at the luck they get (or even feel guilty). For example this team rolled the Thornton loop and also had Stoinis. The Thornton loop was a clever play but it has to come off to be seen that way and Stoinis looked for all the world headed to a single figure DGR score but came out late for a quick 20 to salvage a decent score. For balance they also had Couch (I also had Couch but not Thornton or Stoinis rather I had Cartwright who Stoinis stole those points off).

The maximum score achievable for SC in BBL11 was 19,174 (avg 1,475). This compares to @Diabolical's winning score of 12,687 (avg 976).

You have to feel a bit for the Round 12 leader ABs Runner. Went in with a 49 points leader and had MDermott (C), Dan Christian, Hayden Kerr, Darcy Short, James Bazley, Josh Phillippe, Sean Abbott, Daniel Sams, Ben Dwarshius, Mark Steketee, Sandeep Lamichhane, (Maxwell, Stoinis and Clarke on bench). That is 10 DGRs and Sams and a pretty solid team you would think however only scored 874 and dropped to 6th. Maxwell on field over Sams and they win by 46.

Yeah I agree I think they made all the right moves to negate the POD's, but the big difference was Sams over Maxwell, which was a 155 point loss, which would be a very difficult to swallow

I think Sams over Maxwell was a reasonable call (and probalby the same call as I would have made at the time, fortunatlely I needed both due to lack of DGR players for Rd 13), unless you knew the Hurricanes bowling line-up in advance (which was terrible to say the least for the last game) that Maxy was going to be facing as an opener, which made Maxy a completly different kettle of fish
I dear say if you asked the BBL review questions, who is your favorite and least favourite players, the coach of AB Runners would have a very clear answer.

After 4 completed rounds it is time to have a look a what the current leader has done. Current leader is Kenny'swarriors who has 9606 points at an average of 2402.
A couple of things that stand out to me.

- Having captained the Cripps the first 3 week in week 4 he says, "actually no, you take the armband this week Jarrod".
- Started Howe, Milera, MCrouch, Bailey & Curnow
