Defenders
Premiums: Lloyd, Crisp, Ridley & Short have all been locked in for obvious reasons. Lloyd and Crisp and both consistent and reliable - set and forget type picks. I like Ridley as a player and can see him taking the next step this season and as for Short I can only see him benefiting from the departure of Houli.
Rookies: Uhhhh, this is where things get interesting. I've tried and tried to figure out how I can put a team together without Hinge but he keeps finding a way back in. The way I see it, his body only has to remain in-tact until DPP-changes come in and Daicos can swing down back to cover but that is a big if. Between Gibcus, Wanganeen-Milera and Sinn I am hoping somebody can get on the park and have a consistent run at it. I'm not sold on Chapman or Hewett so am trying to avoid bringing either of those two in. Have contemplated going 5 premiums and brining Whitfield in but don't want to compromise anywhere else.
Midfielders
Premiums: Macrae has been locked in from the get go. Have been tossing between Miller and Steele but after the pre-season games locked in Miller - he just works harder than any other player out there, it's incredible to watch. Brayshaw in as a bit of a POD - I like him a lot - also contemplated Kelly but think Brayshaw is the safer bet. Neale - lock.
Mid-pricers: Berry in as a value pick - have played around with dropping him down to Stephens (who I think with his current role could be played as on-field rookie) and banking the cash elsewhere.
Rookies:JHF, Daicos and Ward all must haves in my book. Rachele in the midfield as a swing for Brodie or Naish - just provides more flexibility. O'Driscoll a placeholder will change when teams are announced but like having the DEF-MID DPP with Sinn.
Rucks
Premiums: Fairly stock standard, Gawn and Grundy not asking any questions here just locking them both in for a big season.
Forwards
Premiums: Dunkley looked too good to ignore - leaving him out is too big of a risk when he sits in 57% of teams.
Mid-pricers: I've gone high-risk high-reward here, I just couldn't help myself..Cogs a lock, McGovern looked great - slightly concerned about the body, particularly when he sat out Q4 in the pre-season game but it's a risk I am willing to take with the new role providing great value (can always swing Rachele forward and on-field). If Brodie remains in the guts and Xerri claims #1 ruck they both have tremendous upside potential - certainly a few question marks but have them in there for now.
Rookies: Rolling the dice with Naish, 58 SC from 38 TOG, open to being talked out of this one but I think he looks good and with injuries mounting at the Eagles I can see him getting some serious minutes. Baldwin and Martin placeholders but seem likely. View attachment 40694
