We all appreciate the institution you've created @Impromptu

If things slow down or shut down for periods of time, the only disappointment I have is the brief loss of connection with the community and knowledge you've created and enabled - but all it really means is we've got to rely on ourselves for a period of time until things are up and going again.

It's really a reflection on the great job you've done, and your character - especially with the culture of the forum. The vibe around here is a testament to you.

Please don't stress about this stuff any more than you want to or can. Or actually don't stress about it at all. Just do what you can.

To be completely honest - I love footy, but it's amplified by this place and the egalitarian and good person feeling of being involved in your forum.
Cannot agree more with this comment.

This place is home to me. Zimmer is a great example of this. He responded to a message if mine the other day, it was like an old friend wandered back into my local pub after he’d been travelling for a year.

Martin first one out for Stringer/Snelling you reckon? Scoring potential is huge for $102k but JS seems very suss.
Yeah, I've been dithering between Martin and Baldwin - but naming Baldwin at CHF has made the difference for me. I know team lists aren't the most reliable, but it's come down to that. Don't understand either Snelling or Francis, so there must be other stuff going on. Probable late changes - which only makes me lean further toward Baldwin.

Baldwin a chance to be replaced by Francis? Surely Jones comes back into their side when he's fit.

Yeah, and Francis has been training forward. I can't work it out - perhaps more astute EFC watchers can help. Would be good to know why Francis is out... if its covid then etc.

Edit: Rutten mentioned that Francis has had a knee issue... so they are being conservative.

Reckon the Bombers should just forget about Smith, looks cooked.
Probably, but we don't have many small forward options. I'd say Martin is safe for the first 2 rounds but after that - unless we get injuries or he seriously impresses - he becomes a little shaky. We have a bit of depth in the half forward/winger roles. If he plays like he has all pre-season he should stay in the team, though.

Jeez, reading this makes me want Owens now … :-
"While first-year players are often shielded from their far more experienced and physically mature teammates, Owens was placed right in the coalface as the Saints’ match simulation sessions heated up.

The No. 24 would be a near-constant presence at centre bounces, many times with Steele as his direct opponent. The ensuing duels between the fledgling Saint and two-time Best & Fairest weren’t one-sided, as you’d typically expect."

Unsure if this is the lineup that will be posted on the AFL website, but this is the lineup that was just sent to me

Macdonald now on the bench after originally being named in the forward pocket.
Maginness moves from the bench to the back flank.
I read it MacDonald the sub.

Xavier O'neill named on ball. I know West Coast have a lot of outs but does he get a decent run in the midfield for a while? Would think Hough, Naish etc would be left out before him. Is he a reasonable option instead of Xerri?
I don’t rate O’Neill myself, if Shuey is fit he would the one straight out I think.
I agree with Shannon... I don't think O'neill is particularly flash either. I wouldn't go near him.
