My 2c on a few issues floating around:

To those saying how good the trade boost is to allow waiting to next Rd and making 3 then, I would say do your best to avoid it. The boost will be so damn valuable during upgrade season it would be a shame to waste one unnecessarily now. More info is always good but pull the trigger on the simple ones to allow flexibility next week and lessen likelihood of needing the boost.

Brodie and Berry are tough ones because individually they seem pretty good to me but structurally they are getting in the way a bit, for those of us with Rachele, Martin, Hayes on the bench. I acknowledge there are elements of doubt over each of them (Berry shoulder and Brodie last-quarter benching plus Fyfe return) but I do think there's an element of people talking themselves into these as bigger issues because they make for 'easy' trade-outs to restructure and target more desirable trade-ins. (Which is not an unimportant consideration). But to me they both hold lots of the appeal that made them desirable picks in the first place, and I can easily see a world where they're being talked about as trade-in options next week, which is always something to think when considering outs.

Ward we should probably have another look at too, but for those without Hough or other likely dropped player, and needing to get N Martin, I think going early is rational given considerations in point 1.

On a miscellaneous note, be careful about sharing restructuring trades around these parts. They often look dodgy out of context and will almost always be advised against. But restructuring can be very important and is often painful. Often they are ones to trust your gut on.

Big watches as trade-in targets for me this week are, in order of appeal, Hewett, English, Docherty, Petracca (not a watch, just a structural thing whether I get access to him), Durdin, Mead, Tom Green, Andrew Brayshaw, Hall.

Good luck all with your deliberations. Definitely one of the funnest weeks of SC with so many options on the table and the season still stretching out appealingly to us.

‘happy to wait a week on Hayes. My biggest issue is Milera. Even though I own crisp and Ridley. Happy to stick fat with them even though Ridley was a last min replacement for Lloyd who I forgot about then Essendon had the early game while I was at work. Also happy to give ward another crack.

so back to Milera. I can only really sideways him to another player at a similar price, or downgrade him to skinner if he’s named. Or I’d have to use a premium who will lose some value.

so it could be Steele to crisp, Milera to Hewett. Kind of leaves a sour taste as it’s almost a reverse of what I did at 710 last Thursday. Only difference is Id now hve miller over steele.

next is steele, Milera out. Lipinski hall in.

other options are Gawn to Witts which would allow Milera to Hewett and ward to lipinski.

anyone Looking at turfing players they still like just to not take their price hit?

Berry was just on the wing and out of the action. Unlucky a few times. Still 0 point 2nd half is frustrating.

Maybe he could already feel he's shoulder giving him some grief by half-time and was just there to make up numbers/rotations, otherwise it's a bit odd for a player like him, almost Owenesk.

To be fair he actually did get the ball but from memory he had a couple of horrendous clangers and in a close game/impactful quarters these would have been scaled harshly. A breakeven 2nd half was almost a win all things considered!

Yeah exactly this. Can we really be absolutely certain Berry was fit and firing in the 3rd quarter?

Good point although it could also easily be contended that his clangers were being caused by a developing shoulder problem and would also explain why he was unable to lift and have any impact in a close game which you would expect from a player of his background.

Anyways we'll see I guess. Think I'm just looking for an excuse to restructure a bit. I could/should do no trades this week but could also easily justify 3, or more, at least in my own mind .

Very possible! The two that stuck in my mind was the dump kick to Aliir who was uncontested (although he dropped it...) and the one where he hit a port player so cleanly they took an uncontested mark despite there being 3 lions players fairly close by. Both happened at critical moments in a tight game so definitely would have copped some negative points for each. The honestly just looked like horrendous disposals/decisions rather than shoulder related issues, but who knows really.. anything is possible!

Haha, yeah it sounds a bit silly and would have to be done over 2 weeks, just something I'm considering to set/re-structure my team until upgrading starts.

Depends a bit on how may non-playing rookies you've got after teams named. Risky but defensible if none, but probably over the line into recklessness if a non-zero number.
