I reckon he's got it arse about, saying that Petracca doesn't hurt you with his score because he's owned by only 11% is wrong in the same way that Gawn hurts because he's owned by 60% of the comp.
I reckon it’s interpretable either way depending on the overall context of your team, relative scoring for the round, and other variables. His logic is a bit simplistic. I agree with you that Petracca at 11% is a significant Pod. Gawn underscoring his price is not significant in context.

I currently have the top 16 most popular picked players in my team ( and I know of a team that has the top 22 most picked players). Mitch McGovern is my most POD player owned by 14.2% of coaches.

So I just did a bit of an exercise to see if there are any true PODS one can bring in.

Did you know that there were 19 players to score over 100 points in round 1 that are owned by less than 1000 coaches!

Although the majority of these players are mid pricers.
I just checked, and I have one of these. Time will tell if it's madness, but a top 2 draft pick, 3rd year pure mid with guaranteed midfield minutes in an improving team would get a lot more notice if they played for a Melbourne club.

Not likely to leap to 110, but 95-100 is certainly within the realms of possibility. Maybe 450k is too much to spend, but the pod-ness encouraged me to take that chance.

I was interested.

Most to least selected:
Ben Keays 128, Andrew Gaff 103, Sam Frost 100, Darcy Byrne-Jones 113, Noah Anderson 106, Oliver Florent 116, Matt Flynn 119, Ed Langdon 103, Rhys Stanley 103, Lachlan Sholl 108, Brad Crouch 112, Harry Perryman 109, Luke McDonald 140, Marcus Adams 106, Mitch Lewis 110, Rory Lobb 113, James Rowbottom 119, Jack Redden 106, Jamaine Jones 105, Tom Cutler 104.

I highly doubt most of these will maintain a 100+ average, and I think I missed all of them in MPM let alone my main team (although I did mention Lewis at one stage after he kicked 8 in an intra-club).

Yes, who is on your radar for Round 3.

McDonald is top of my list. What a role.

That is a pretty good list I reckon. A bunch were in my radar.
Keays - massive jr ballwinner. Steppers it up as a SC option since he got to Adel. In the leadership group. Good chance to average 100
Gaff - you know what you're getting, a durable 95-105 at a good price who probably spikes up at some stage during the year
Frost - not for me
DBJ - Good 90+ option at a decent price who might spike up
Anderson - Pure mid #2 draft pick in his 3rd year with a SC improvement trend. 100 might be asking a bit as far as full year average, but I'm thinking 95, and might spike up enough to bridge to a full premo
Florent - another of those rated kids who has shown signs of becoming SC relevant previously. If the role is good keep an eye on.
Flynn/Stanley - better options for the position are available
Langdon - I'll pass. Probably an 85 average
Scholl - a year too early?
Crouch - you know what you're getting. Can average 105 if he stays fit depending on role.
Perryman - Good chance to average 100 I reckon, but no longer a defender meant I didn't really consider. If a defender there's a good chance he'd be in my team.
McDonald - has shown he can go big if not injured. Injury risk though.
Adams - Can play. More an 85-90 average if he stays healthy. And not likely to stay healthy
Lewis - as good a young option for those with his type of role as there is, but we normally stay away from that role except for the elite of the elite.
Lobb - wait and see how Darcy impacts, and if dual position
Rowbottom - see Florent
Redden - you know what you're getting, so not for me
Jones - a bit early and questions on role when players return
Cutler - please no.

I bet at least 3 of these guys end up in my side at some point!
