Suggestions on which bench player to dump to fund Marshall to English or an alternative proposed. Ideally I would like to open the opportunity whether now or when dual position changes are announced to move a def/fwd to the fwd bench, English to the forward line, Coniglio to the midfield and Daicos to the backline (if he receives def/mid status) which allows me to bring in Preuss as my second ruck which would move one of McCartin/Hinge to the bench.

it would seem that maginess to odriscall is the perfect trade for you then, given odriscall plays which he may not

means you gain a def mid rookie down back, can move rachele to mids, skinner down forward and opens up heaps of moves

just need odriscall to play

I think the IDEAL time to offload Gawn to English was last week. You may have missed the boat. It's about an 80k loss doing the trade now. Gawn scored well on the weekend, so should be a hold now. May need another avenue to grab English. The Stephens to Preuss trade could be worth it if Stephens gets dropped this week (via dpp).
I agree somewhat but an 80K loss this week can slowly turn into a positive gain depending on what Gawn does for the rest of the season and what it buys. I'm still toying on a Gawn to English and Berry to Green for what I see a net gain over the next few weeks and season. Does also give me a bit more of a look at the Ruck Landscape moving forward to see where Grundy and Gawn both settle.

WHo's your defender? I'd have someone in mind that you're 100% certain will help improve your team rather than just finding someone for the sake of it.

Crisp to Hall is pretty sideways too.

I'd be passing on that mate.
I have Crisp and I am seriously considering trading him. Last game Pendles looked like he was everywhere that Crisp could have been once upon a time. If it was just one of those games that goes pear shaped I would hold but I suspect it wasn't. Probably going to Short who has a monopoly on Richmond kick ins.

On Green, as good as he looks, 2 of his 3 best scores in 2021 were when he kicked 2 goals (111 and 123) and he went under 100 in 14/15 of his other games.

This year, his two best scores are when he kicked 2 goals (164 and 147) - not sure how often he is going to be doing that (2/17 last year)

That being said, he's also at 29+ possessions in all 3 games this year when that was his peak last year.

Could be a keeper but I really struggle to see him kicking 2 goals a game (or even averaging a goal a week for the rest of the season)
Might be able to average 110+ without the goals though still!
great points…. Also need to wonder what impact Toby Greene has when he returns to the team in a few rounds? Surely will push into the midfield rotation as well?

Thoughts on Rachele to Gollant, Crisp to Hall
Then potentially going for a third trade and getting rid of Gibcus, McCartin or Hinge and getting a defender with a cap of around 430k
Would hold fire, very sideways… definitely wouldnt even consider trading Mcartin or a hinge either….
be keen to see your overall team to give you further advice?

I would move on Finn Mguiness, Impey should be back this week and will take his spot in the 22….
Skinner would be handy to move forward as a floating donut for the time being ( even though he is first game this round)….will allow you to get the right rookie score on field for the time being…

I would trade out McGinness to J. Mead.
McGuinness (BE 30) doesn't look like he will make much more money, while Mead (BE -3) should.

From memory, Green was a massive pig as a junior so he certainly has the chops and I wouldn't doubt his ability. However, it's worth remembering that he's only 21 and this is only his third season so he's not yet in that elite level age bracket, which is not to say he can't be elite at a young age, it's just that the odds are he will have more off games. The other main concern is Leon Cameron. Query what happens when Toby Greene returns, which will presumably see a re-shuffle of midfield opportunities (Taranto??)
Worth noting his TOG has improved through a limited sample. The 78 and 82 are two of the top 4 compared to last year and the 74 is still above the median point last year.

Big question for Green is what happens when Hopper is back and fit as well as Greene who pushes Coniglio and Taranto into purer midfield roles or takes a midfield role himself if they go a different path.

One of those tough ones, can totally see him averaging 110-115 from here if things hold up, which still means he's very good value right now but there's definitely a strong case for him dropping back into the 90 range where he'd be a poorer pick.

Now you're picking a keeper and nothing less will do so you'd want to believe in him but no good reason that him as an ascending player isn't a better pick than say a Parker as a fallen premium when it comes to the value equation. Last year those who jumped on Parish in round 7 or 8 were still very happy even if he was 100k more than they could have got him earlier on. Same with a Touk or a few others.

Until tonight when the teams were announced I was going to trade Lukosius for Skinner and Ward for Green. With Skinner not selected I'm thinking maybe abstinence this round.
Any comments?

Anyone have Marshall at R2 and considering trading for Preuss (Hayes at R3)?

The other thing with this to be a total fail would require English to revert back to sub 90 scoring and Gawn to revert back to 120+. If one manages to hold their current average for this season then it's a win IMO, if both manage to hold their current averages for the season it's a big win. And for me that's only looking at the single trade of Gawn to English and not even the potential benefits of moving Berry to Green
