Geelong didn't have to bomb it in as they didn't face much pressure so Ridley surely improves this week.
Agree, but there was definitely opportunities especially in the second half for him to chop off. Will only improve if the midfield pressure improves haha but one would hope it will!

Back to back 💯's for Chapman.

Average up to 88.8

Blakey , Bowey , Chapman & Rioli all looking like they would have been worthwhile to start.
Chapman is looking like a really good mid price pick now after a slowish start, has made $75k ($41k just this week) and has a BE of -13. Another large score and he'll get to $450k by round 7 or 8 which is a huge win. The issue with him is role, if he's given a loose role and license to rebound (he especially loves the kick that goes in board from the back flank and he hardly misses with it), he has very good scores in him, if he's given a more defensive/accountable role he doesn't score (round 1 specifically, although his score was boosted by the game winning spoil). In round 2 he had a good second half after a very poor first half (turnovers) but it's expected from young players. He's a terrific player and could be a supercoach gun in the near future.

Should've just started him ahead of Ryan and saved some $.

He & Young certainly scoring well so far , don't know enough about Freo's defensive setup.if they are both impacting Ryan.

With McCartin and especially Hinge’s time looking up. Seriously considering Williams as an upgrade target.

Averaging 113 from his last 3 and a breakeven of only 42. Not sure if I have the bravery to follow through.

Finding this the most interesting line so far

Hewett * 118
Docherty 117.4
Sinclair * 115.6
McGovern 113
Stewart 109.8
May 108
Witherden 107.5
Sicily 106.6
Houston * 104.8
Pendlebury * 104.8

Apart from Stewart , none of the preseason favourites appearing (yet) , obviously Hewett & Sicily were discussed heavily

McGovern, Stewart and Witherden have missed games though. If sorting by points scored they come out of the top 10 for Short (35%), Crisp (35%) and Dawson (5%).

Ridley is the interesting one for me. In 18% of teams but middling scores so far to average 88.2. What does he need to do to recover from here? With the Essendon midfield struggling will he continue to score poorly?

I agree. It's hard to see who we "need" at the moment.
Hewett has a great role. Does Sinclair get affected by returning players? Does Doch get some attention?
I also noticed that Crisp is scoring better than Lloyd and Hall yet I think some made that trade.

Points scored is probably a better idea.

Not sure about Ridley , wasn't ever going to start him (too much uncertainty about kick ins) so haven't really been tracking him

I am trying to focus on getting ultra premium mids as my upgrade targets this season so haven't really been tracking defence as much.

Probably my weakest line at the moment with Short , Ryan , D Rioli , Daicos , Blakey & Whitfield

I guess like many Crisp , Dawson , Lloyd , Stewart etc are in the back of my mind.

Pendles & Zorko are of interest after DPP additions.

I started with three $500k+ and (from R3) two sub $480k defenders and still have three $500k+ and two sub $480k defenders, should I be happy or sad….. 😂

I mean at least you've got Sicily...

I started with 3 defenders above 535k, 1 above 500k and one at 400k... The 400k is now the only one above 530k, one is a rookie and the other two have lost 120k between them...

I can say, hand to heart, that I did not foresee the defenders ruining any chance this season! In fact, my disaster list is the "safe guys" and my success is the "implosion candidates"...

Looking ahead to next weeks trades and I'll be getting my worst rookie off the field in Noddy, if I upgrade him then I can afford any defender and Sinclair is on my radar, if I upgrade SDK (pushing Noddy to the bench) then my budget is limited to < 550k and Pendlebury sits within that range. Chasing a bit of feedback in case I'm missing something.

Short for ~$510k would be top of my list if I didn't have him.

What do we make of Houston’s start to the year. Lowest score of 83, 5 over 90 with 2x 120+ scores.

I know he has promised to break out before, but is he maybe benefiting from this alleged midfield shake up at port? Nice price. Other option under consideration is Stewart, but I am balking at the 570k price tag
