$3000 shy of Pendlebury and Stewart to replace Daicos and McCartin due to trading Dow over Rachele last round.

Appreciate thoughts on the best use of the large cash this round:
A. Out: N Daicos and J Berry, In: J Steele and S Pendlebury
B. Out: N Daicos and H Dixon, In: S Pendlebury and D Zorko/J Sicily (via McCartin)
C. Out: H Dixon and P McCartin, In: J Lloyd (via De Koning) and D Zorko
D. Other
Option A for me.

Wife's bday today and mother's day tomorrow means my attention is reluctantly diverted from SC and I need to make a concerted effort to not continuously look at my phone as I tinker with my team :censored: :p

So i've done something that will probably come back to bight me in the long run, but feels okay in the present

Have locked in the following:

Hewett/TDK/Berry > Parker/Laird/McComb

Was fairly rd 12 bye heavy too, so these trades have helped to balance things up a bit too

OK, one trade done, 178k cash.

Stephens brings McComb on, Hayes brings Hayes on. Main question here concerns what to do with Hewett...
Option 1: Daicos + Hewett > May (or equivalent defender, considering Zorko too) + Cripps/Parker
Option 2: Daicos > Cripps/Parker (save a boost)
Option 3: Hewett + Jackson > Cripps AND Parker
Sounded like from a tweet earlier that Dixon won't be sub tonight so there probably isn't as much of a rush to get him out? Several key players would be locked out by the time that was known though.

Probably wait to see if Daicos actually is a late out to make the call but any initial thoughts?

I may have shot myself in the foot by whacking the E on everyone last night. Now not too sure what trades to pull. I have 3 to use this week still with $179,300 ITB.
If Butters scored ok was going to take his score via Long. He scored rubbish, so looks like I will need a premo forward this week.
Hayes was good, so his score can be taken via Dixon out (assuming he is out???).
JHF a muddling 66, so could go either way with him. Really should be looking at Cripps this week, but will fill my mids, with Rowell probably needing to be slingshotted.
And NOD with another muddling 61, so could go either way with him via Hewett.
Also have to take into consideration VC, C.
Don't really want to get rid of Daicos, but his funds allow me to get 2 premiums with 3 trades ie. Zorko/Dawson and Moore and rookie.
Alternatively could do 2 trades: Say Dow and Rachele for Cripps and Hamilton, which would mean fielding McReary and Hamilton
And there is the option of trading Hewett, which I would rather not do.

If any astute minds have an opinion, I would really appreciate it.

I find it hard to go past the Steele option, especially if you plan to move on Butters (to make room for Clark on field).

Sicily also looks pretty good as an alternative and does even up your structure.

For me Cripps is a much more compelling target than Parker (although I’m bringing in both).

What about option 1 with Sicily or Pendles?

2 is also okay if you think Hewett needs trading. 3 seems a bit sideways to me - an upgrade, but maybe not enough to justify two trades.

Maybe something like Dixon > Sicily by swinging SDK forward.
Next week you could go O'Driscoll down to a Clark type swinging SDK back and Hamilton forward. Could then go Hayes > Darcy if you want him.
Thanks. I would prefer to use the cash to double upgrade this round and I am not currently interested in Darcy as I would prefer a Goldy/English type with dual position status if I was to move Hayes to the bench.

Thanks. Considered Sicily but I prefer the dual position status of Zorko, waiting on Lloyd or even paying the additional $50,000 for Stewart instead. Yet to consider trading Butters but if so, it would likely be for season long ruck coverage such as Goldstein or English, to continue running the Preuss and Hayes ruck set up.

Whilst I would much prefer Steele over Zorko, it is difficult to trade Berry given the current matchup and the Eagles status as the lowest scoring SC side (of those yet to have played in RD8) since I would not be surprised if he recorded his season high today and first 100+. Also it would mean that I have to field two of O’Driscoll and McCartin this round and given my current ranking position, I feel I have a better chance to make up ground this round and in the following few if I grab two defenders.

This would also allow Butters to be kept and Berry to be traded to ensure Clark receives an on-field spot without trading a potential keeper.

Did well with my trade ins this week, the two Luke's - McDonald and Parker

This week target is Todd Goldstein. Not sure if I will double up and take Todd Marshall.

All jokes aside. Have a look at Goldy. Great option for the next 6 games and then upgrade at his bye. Xerri not back for a while and CCJ no good (not injured, just NO GOOD). Will be number 1 ruck for at least 3, if not all 6 games.
Great call, and I was doing it until a host of outs forced my hand :(
Big scores + 100k then flip at byes. Will be keen to show everyone that he can go another year too.

This doesn’t look easy to me, unfortunately.

I was trying to find a way to get Cripps, a decent rookie (eg going very early on Clark) and another premo from Daicos/Rachele/Dow, but you’d need a premo at around 471k which may be slightly compromised.

If you don’t want to trade Hewett, I’d probably prioritize getting Cripps and then see what can be done from there.

McCartin or SDK could be swung forward if you’d rather get a defender than a forward.

That makes sense. I don’t know what the Brisbane approach will be, but maybe Berry could play less mid time if they want to limit the risk of shoulder issues against very weak opposition? That’s pure speculation on my part, and he may well go big if he plays his normal role, but if his shoulder is a concern, perhaps they consider managing him slightly differently?

For what it’s worth, apparently Fagan has let the players take charge of prep (/plans?) for this round. He said they won’t get complacent and it had been done at Hawthorn, but it may lead to some changes versus the status quo.

The caveat on all of this is that I still plan(ned) to straight C Neale. I may have a way out if Dixon doesn’t make the 23.

Yeah, is tough, thanks for your thoughts Darkie, probably grab Cripps and see.
