I have had Gawn since the start so I haven't wasted a trade to acquire/reacquire him. When was the last time he played St Kilda with both Marshall and Ryder in the same lineup? Plus Jackson has returned.
137and 135 in his past two games against the Saints ….the only difference may be the return of Jackson which will curb his rucking time….

Doesn’t surprise me, ridiculous selection decision 🤦🏻‍♂️
I can see why they made the decisions they did though... our season is shot already so we need to find out about our players. We needed a look at Jamieson as lead ruck, and we needed to see if Edwards could be a viable backup option if needed. Also it gave us some cover just in case something happened to Barrass coming back from that hamstring issue.

So some good learning about our list this weekend.

Jamieson was good, can see the potential as a 2nd ruck.
Edwards has been training/ getting groomed the last few years as a tall defender - looked decent last year in that position.
Last night in the ruck he hardly jumped, looked completely out of his depth so not sure what he has showed at training to make them think he could be a viable option v Big O. Dixon at least would compete & offer more at ground level. Edwards offered literally nothing last night.

We also don’t know if Dixon has some sort of issue coming off that calf the other week, but as I said I think it’s entirely possible they just wanted some tall defender cover for Barrass.

I’m not unhappy they tried it as an Eagles supporter. We where never going to win the game so we learned something instead.

As a Dixon SC owner.. yeah sure I want him to play every week, but I’m confident we’ll see a Stnadica/Dixon lineup this week provided they are both fit.
