Given I have Cripps, Walsh and Hewett in my team (not sure how I ended up with 3 Carlton midfielders!!), I'm leaning toward grabbing Carroll this week. Scoring is probably impacted with Hewett returning, but can almost hold him as insurance against any of the other 3 missing.

Apologies if this has been discussed previously, but what order are we ranking this weeks main 3 bubble boys, not counting Begg or Jamieson

Rioli > Carroll > Hamilton? Just know I am going to pick the wrong one

Rioli > Carroll > Hamilton? Just know I am going to pick the wrong one
Rioli is the consensus #1 - mainly because he seems to have the best job security and scored 70+ without a goal last week.

Carroll v Hamilton is a coin flip gamble. I haven’t seen one person this week give a genuinely good reason why one beats the other…

That order but I think we're all clutching at straws.
Voss mentioned Carroll would have played round 1 if he was good to go. Plus he played for East Fremantle. :)(y)

I’m still doing my research/thinking, but would flag that I’m a bit skeptical on Rioli. Rosas was a reasonably popular small forward pick as well, and now looks like a potential bust. Rosas’ VFL numbers are materially better than Rioli’s, so I’m wary of Rioli despite a good start.

Edit: it’s obviously a relative game. Just pointing out that I won’t be at all surprised if I pick Rioli and he doesn’t make the cash we’re all hoping for.

Like most small forwards he'll put in a stinker, Durdin, Rachelle and Rosas have done the same, just hoping that the low scoring game comes later rather than sooner.

RE: Rioli > Carroll > Hamilton?
I'm trying to do research, but I am struggling to find 'selecting confidence' info on these Rookies.
Hamilton has a better on field role than Rioli, but he was quiet last round.
Job security is my biggest concern with all 3 Rookies.

One thing that seems to have potentially slipped under the radar is that Rioli played R21 and 22 last year, scoring 22 and 24.

I assumed he’d never played before given his starting price this year, but he may have simply been priced off his 2021 average.

Edit: if JS is your concern, I gather Rioli will be the best of the bunch. It’s his scoring that I’m unsure of. I still don’t know much about Hamilton just yet, but he won’t even have the same coach for his fourth game!

I guess it is encouraging that Carroll has been picked with the return of Hewett, however we won't know whether this will impact his scoring or not. What are your thoughts on him compared to the other two?

I think I recall reading somewhere this week that Voss said if Carroll was ready to go round 1 he would have been playing ...

- I interpret that as meaning it'll be his spot to lose now that he is in ...

Edit: poor english :) ... plays well then he should be right ...

Not only that Carroll was picked with Hewett playing, but he is also selected on the field, not the Interchange Bench for this round.
For me, that kinda kind off kind of puts him ahead of Rioli and Hamilton.

I must say, I am feeling reasonably responsible for everyone suddenly showing concern for their grammar. I'm actually pretty crap at spelling and grammar, however I have been saved over the past 25 years by the miracle of spell check software -lolz
