No, Kemp is more a third tall without the intercept marking yet. Can even see him thrown forward as the third tall behind Curnow and Jack when they bring back Young.
Kemp did run off half back a fair bit in his under-age year he can play that role if they want him to, one I'll be watching pretty closely this weekend.

Noticed Walsh didn’t attend many if any cba on the weekend, can’t find the stats. Looks like he may have been pushed to a more outside game, high half forward with license to roam anywhere.

Still scored well and will score well in most positions but something to be aware of, less cbas normally mean less points.

Is Cogs injured? See many trading him out?

Apols, have been offline a bit this week.
No, at least he’s not on any injury list, but he’s made $200k is not scoring anymore and looks like he needs upgrading. For me, he’s turned into Laird, although I did think about holding until the byes, he’s round 12 and it’s hard to do anything clever with that.

Yeah see I think I am more tempted to take options like Khamis & Thompson while they are here, rather than hope for some 60+ averaging half back with good JS to emerge down the track. The sooner I unlock the cash from downgrading Hinge & SDK, the sooner I can finish my defence & bring in English when he returns. I just don't think I gain enough from stalling that upgrade process.

Given I am hoping to finish my defence next week, I only have 2 defender rookie spots available. The tough decision for me is whether I fill those spots with both Khamis & Thompson this week, or only take 1 of Khamis/Thompson and save a spot for Luke Cleary (who looks like he could have the best scoring potential of the 3) next week. It would be a nightmare if I saved a spot for Cleary and he gets dropped though.

Does anyone have an opinion on what I should do here?
You could get more value out of a flonut if you don't already have one and move it to the other line if a better rookie defender shows up. Khamis could be that flonut but will you have a premium D/F to float with.

Agreed! I made a similar point the other day.. not sure what everyone will do when they have 2 non-playing rookie defenders on the bench that have barely made any cash.

Cheers - yeah I was just concerned about introducing an intentional donut into my team before the carnage of the bye period hits, but there is some merit to that approach.

He strikes me as someone who has struggled a bit this season when playing as a pure mid role.. whether it is fatigue impacting disposal, pace of the game, or other factors.

But one of the biggest drivers I think will be how collingwood can use them to create mismatches. Rather than going forward and getting taken by a defender (and vice versa), they can rotate in transition and suddenly De Goey has pushed forward vs a midfielder, or is pushing up to stoppages with a defender in toe. It's an element of the 2021 Jake Stringer role, as a pure mid he struggled, as a forward he was useful, but playing that hybrid role took him to a new level.

Looking at scores (albeit a small sample size) De Goey averaged 95 with Elliot in the team but fell off a bit of a cliff without him. People have talked about high clanger games being a factor.. and a strong contributor to that could be fatigue/playing a pure 360 degree role.

Not to say it's for everyone but I just think there was strong signs in those first 3 games and the missing piece since then has been Elliot being injured.
His New York fiasco, other legal issues and then splitting from his partner would not have helped him at all. Crap private life issues can often result in crap onfield form. Goldy had some personal issues with his partner a few years ago and he went from All Aust in 2015 to his worst season in a long time in 2016 and being dropped in 2017. With those issues combined he admitted later that it lead to mental health issues.

I'm trading one of Cogs or Nick Martin.
Gets a premo with only one other down (y)
Got too many 'nearly there' M/F in the team (y)
Helps the byes (bringing in a R14 player) (y)

Just don't know which one! Have gone Martin because Cogs looks more likely to get back to scoring 90s than a rookie.

Steele to Sicily locked in via DPP Crisp to mids. Gee hope Crisp plays on Sunday.

I'm not very good with these bye strategies. Round 12, I have 10/30 missing. Round 13, 14 missing and only 6 missing in round 14.

If I'm trading the next 2 rounds, do I bring in someone with the round 14 bye? Seeing as though I only have 6 missing? Thoughts welcome.

Yeah, reckon if you do continue to upgrade now you gotta even up the byes. Of course you still have to like the player you trade in but In your situation I definitely wouldn't be bringing in any more R13 premos yet.

i would be targeting Melbourne/ Fremantle/Brisbane premium players whom have the last bye….
Zorko, Gawn, Petracca, Brayshaw come to mind as targets for me….

maybe also worth planing to move any round 13 rookies from Sydney or WB off to Carlton, GWS, St kilda top ups during the round 13 trades….potentially save a boost for round 13 too?
