Anyone know what’s the story with Wagner - SC says he’s tbc with a hamstring but haven’t heard about it anywhere else. Missed the match sim today according to bf

From Freo BF board - 2 track watchers at their match sim yesterday :

- Young taking the kick outs and his general play in transition.

- Young was so good I thought. They are definitely looking for him all over the ground so Fantasy players can take that for what it’s worth and add in the fact that he took the bulk of the kickouts today. Ryan and Chappy each had a go too, but even with the Ryan one I think the plan was to have Ryan kick it out to Clark, get it back then handball to Young who’d positioned himself on the 50/boundary intersection or close by.

Very interesting that Young was taking most of the kickouts with Ryan playing in the same team as him.... along with them looking for him all over the ground. Getting hard to resist him especially if this continues in the preseason games.
If
It is that time of the pre season where the high risk/reward players really start to creep their way into my team.

Aaron Hall at D1 anyone?

Nooooooooooooooooooo, he needs to be put out to pasture. MacDonald and Zieball back there, The next generation need some games.

Hoping Battle goes forward and Coffield just slots into the role that he played some of his best footy in, if he goes amongst that mid sized defender pack I start to have some concerns on his JS, Webster and Paton are both pretty good players and Hill and Sinclair are all but certainties to be picked every week.

Nick Daicos currently in 44% of sides (second only to Ginbey at 44.1%).

Curious to know where the upside is with him. Yes his debut season was one of the best ever and I get that he's likely moving to a midfield role but his best scores last year were achieved as a defender. During rounds 5 to 11 he was moved to the midfield and averaged 70. Even as a defender, he struggled when tagged (Ryan Clarke held him to a 62 and 76 in Rd 22 and the prelim).

I feel like not taking him is a decent negative POD this year.

I think there is a lot in the name and that many think he is going to be GAJ 2.0. Probably a bit in the price too, saving 100k over the true def prems, also the ownership numbers means there could be a risk if you fade (what a great word) him.

Nothing to say that he will continue an upward trend and second year blues and all that. Must admit though, he has been consistent in my drafts and I have dropped Young before him.

In Match Sims this preseason however he has taken much more with Ryan in the same team.

I get the impression that Freo are really going to use his lethal left foot much more this year, has had a few years in the big time now so is ready to take on more responsibility. Freo became quite predictable last year with their kicks in, Ryan nearly always looked for Cox & kicked it to him, even when he had multiple opponents around him - I watched a few Freo games with some of their supporters/ it was driving them crazy how predictable it was & they were rarely able to get a quick transition to their fwd line after a kick in so no doubt the Freo coaches would of looked at it hence Young now looming as the ideal guy with this kicking ability.

I wonder if Cox was missing from those match sims. I knew he had the skateboard incident, but not sure how long he has been managed for the infection.

You sound nervous?

I don't see the risk starting or even not starting him to be honest. I think either way, he's pretty easy for me to either flip or trade in whichever way I start. FWIW, hasn't left my side but I'll be honest, I haven't even thought about it, the 44% ownership just made the decision for me.
