I think it is quite possible that by Rd 4 Constable is dropped or his role severely impacted. McKenna is still not a monty for Rd 1 for mine. Ginbey is the one with best JS and scoring potential.
I think they'll be OK, but that's partly why I don't want the blues rookies in there as well.

Yep, I'm as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs starting those 2 you mentioned.

Bail out options for me are pretty limited though, McKenna could go to Goater and Constable > Chesser, who might not be named either, but I would think that he'll get a run of games sooner rather than later and could be a handy FD in the meantime.

I think Goater is likely to be the out (providing he is scoring okay) for one spot as long as you have the cash. Part two of the low end play is that it is easier to drop down from a Jones or Crozier type to Goater types if required, than finding money to go up. If you are going with quite few low end players or high end rookies then you can probably keep a modest amount of cash in hand. If you are going with the cheaper picks (eg in Def Cincotta and Cowan) I suspect you need a lot more cash for possible upward corrections. I do not like having anything less than 20k in cash at the start and prefer more if practical. Once upon a time I aimed for 100k but extra trades means that is probably too much now.

Agreed on the 100k part, leaving 20 or so k makes sense.

Don't have either of the Carlton rookies with Constable and Michalanney on the bench, I've since added Chesser to the mids but Wilmot might be an option in place of either Constable or Chesser.

I tend to agree the rookies down back are a bit of a worry esp for teams looking to string that line out.
Also esp considering McLean, Allen and Sheezel could be started up forward in theory (1 or 2 of)

Always Max Michalanney $135k defender who's a lock to play.

Low scorer (38 on the pre-season game) but will play lots of games with Doedee leaving at season end and they need a replacement for him.
Which club?

Doedee leaving Adelaide to play again at the same club?
Oh thought you was asking who Michalanney played for..

Not sure where his headed seen it reported a couple of days ago. was behind a paywall but start of the story said Michalanney would play early to get games in him due to Tom Doedee leaving (along the lines)

I've got $130k left over in my current team, and whilst I could have less (if Cowan plays over Cincotta and/or a playing $124k ruck shows), I'm really not sure whether it's worth spending. Granted, if the money is sitting there it's doing nothing, but on the flipside it's ready for a boost to early upgrade season without having to be 'unlocked' with a trade.

Wasn’t I reading that McKenna looked fat and slow and was a likely starting sub? Or did I dream that 🤔
Someone did post that, I thought it was overly harsh.

Certainly not slow but not quite as fast as he looked previously, still looks a decent option to me. Lions played both of the last year’s Grand Finalists in their preseason games so 2 of the best teams he will play against, expect him to find more ball/ more space in the real season v lesser opposition.
That was me. Harsh it was, but I meant in reference to how lean and fast he was at the Bombers. Even one of the commentators said it, but they put it in a nice way, saying the Brisbane top made him look bigger...if that's a real thing, then Tipppa should never go to Brisbane.

I don't agree with the opposition excuse. Geelong were in 2nd gear and got smashed. That has to be equivalent to an average side in the real season. I do think Mckenna will get better over time, being out of the game for a few years. I also think he will score ok, but I don't see how he fits into the Brisbane side that's loaded with half backs. I'll probably pick him if named, but I can easily see him being dropped after a couple games based on what I've seen.
