When it comes to Green I think of guys like Liberatore - elite contested ball beast, but doesn't have the outside game to really go any higher than a 110 average. Green is very handball happy and doesn't get involved a lot in the outside play, which may prevent him having those consistent 120+ games you need from a premium mid

With the amount of mids you can make a case for to average 115+ this year, a 110 average from Green at his price isn't really gonna cut it. 97 to 115 is a significant jump to make in one season. I currently have Green in my team and will most likely start him, but I do question just how high his ceiling is.

I'd say if you're not expecting big points from him, remove him. You could just as easily gamble on Titch (fallen premo + changed clubs) or JDG cheaper, or pick up a mid pricer and take some cash in. All of those are better options than someone who will clog up a list spot - especially when there are bunch around the 600-620k mark who you can make a strong case for top 8, Steele, Cripps, Parish etc. But if you're like me... that won't be happening...dude where's my cash!

Green is coming in to his 4th season. Guys like Oliver, Cripps, Macrae, Bont, etc. it was their 5th/6th seasons where they all really took their games to the next level and became super premium scorers.

You lot are harsh markers, I would take 110 from Green in a heartbeat! And if that level he isn't a keeper at the end of the year then you have had a pretty good season...

Are we putting too much faith in Callaghan ?
Tricky price and I know he’ll get more mid time,but so will Coniglio. Also Green and Kelly in there, and despite his good score in the practice match,it was only against a Gold Coast midfield.
His highest score last year (76) was against St. Kilda, but against tougher opposition he could only manage 48 against the Dees,and 33 against the Cats.
Very small sample size,but food for thought.

Anyone rate LDU above Green as a keeper? Have had both in my team, and depending on how the last few rookies fall, one may need to come back in.

I can see up to 14 players averaging 115+ this season (the 7 who did it last year + Merrett, Brayshaw, Cripps, Parish, Steele, Kelly), plus a handful more in the 110-115 range. If Green goes at 107-110 and ends up outside of the top 20 midfield scorers then you'll have missed out on a lot of points come the end of the year, and he'll probably end up requiring a luxury trade at some point.

With Green, you are really just hoping he bursts out of the blocks with a string of ~120 games against soft opposition.

The issue is that GWS aren't exactly a great side themselves

Yes Hopper & Taranto are real losses but GWS had a surplus of quality midfielders previously along with Leon adding Ash in there as a run with player when he is a very good half back (just one of many bizarre Leon moves)

Backing my boy to get very close to the 120 mark this year myself, endurance has really improved/ will run out games better this year.
