I agree Darkie, I plan on using one next week to give my mid-pricers another week but also to assess who I could move them onto.
I think boosts should be primarily used to speed up your upgrade cycle and get you to a full premium squad quicker. But if needed use 1 or 2 to make corrections to help jump on the value that you've missed early, so you don't fall behind the pack.

The way I’m thinking about it at this stage, if we use one boost ahead of R3, it delays one upgrade from R10 to R11. Let’s say it’s a 50 point upgrade, so that costs us 50 points.
My gut feel is that I can make a 50 point better decision if I trade in R3 than R2 … it’s equivalent to about 2.5 points per round, or $13k in cash terms, which both seem pretty manageable with the benefit of expanding out sample size (arguably doubling it in the case of a new coach, or a Bruhn type at a new club/rookie on debut).
Those differences could potentially be achievable in identifying which of the c. $500k defenders is going to be the slightly better scorer, getting a comparable scorer $13k cheaper, having a week to see which of your mid pricers have the worst role or possibly even get injured between the R2 and R3 cuto***, etc.

Caved in and traded Jones for Sheezel. Even though I think Jones will score well this week if he plays. However, I think I'll be making at least 3 trades next week (with a bit more info) and hence I don't want to miss out on getting Sheezel who's looking increasing likely to be an essential rookie to own.
Yes, I was thinking 50 points is about right for using one (but the value of each subsequent one increasing). Agree that could easily be worth it for getting more info on a player like Bruhn. If one of the three is obvious though (like sheezel in for a dropped rookie, say) I think worth the extra slight risk to avoid the boost.

Haven’t caught up on the thread past this post, but just one more opinion for ya 
Fyfe as I said a few times was always going to be well beaten by Wilkie imo. I’d certainly be giving him another week at home vs North Melbourne before trading. Ziebell could be a good target.
You would surely have Laird on notice as well. So let’s say there’s potentially 2 corrections next week. Really, we are hoping at least 1, but preferably 2 (well, all 3) perform between Fyfe, Bruhn and Flanders and that will save some headaches.
Don’t think there is a clear answer to Kelly hold/trade.
It’s dependant on your team. Personally, I’m holding him as I have sufficient bench cover as I bat deep in the mids, plus other areas I need to fix. For you, I think we use it to find some cash, which brings me to the most glaring issue for mine,
Hunter Clark. Saints potentially will have Windhager and Ross back which will take any mid time he was getting. NWM and Sinclair look to be the two main men rebounding off half back. There’s just no great role for Clark atm, fwiw I think saints should look to trade him whilst he’s got some value at seasons end.
I’d go :
Kelly - Callaghan
Clark - Ridley/Daicos
That will give you 150k in bank for next week and saves you a boost. I’d be looking at using a boost next week with a few on notice.

I'm starting to give this serious thought. Jones needs to go but I'm hesitant to swap to another meh rookie like Cole, or someone like Uwland/Michelanney who have a JS risk.
I could go Jones > Bowes and Hopper > Callaghan. This frees up trades next week for final corrections but is still essentially just swapping one MPM player for another, and while Bowes was talked about a lot in preseason it's another story entirely to burn a trade on a mid pricer sight unseen.
Beyond this, Taranto is probably the best trade out candidate to allow me to shore up D2 and just have less def rookie risk overall.

Just for another reference point on the above poster. Watched the full Saints game and Clark in particular.
Thought he was excellent when on the field and was actually pretty harshly rated by CD. He had 1 effective touch from his first 10 but easily could've been 3 or 4. There were some elite contested clearance handballs out that they gave as ineffective twice that hit his teammate perfectly but 1 was miscategorised and the other the saints player fumbled.
He also noticeably looked fatigued in the 4th quarter which was probably disappointing given he had only had 60% TOG to 3 Quarter Time.
Think he ended with like 55% TOG which is a bad sign but overall his score wasn't representative of how he played. Thought he was one of Saints best that kept them solidly in the game through the midfield in the 2nd Quarter in particular.
Would be very worried he isn't fit though as a non-owner. If he has a <70% TOG game again and < 70sc score i'd move him on if I was an owner.
