Do we keep day in or do we trade him
Team dependant IMO. He will get Mid DPP flexibility next round regardless, plus the addition of Sheezel/Ziebell down back.

If he is your D2/D3 and you are also dealing with Docherty, I can see why you would look to move him on. His return presents an obtainable upgrade option for a Ginbey/Jones type.

Day is currently my D4. If the teams are kind, I’m hoping to hold and rely on Cowan & Wilmot.

Gee, it feels confusing this week where to trade, particularly for those of us struggling with ranking this year.

Rookies feels risky in JVR, Samson could be ok, TYoung could be ok, both with one price rise.

Had planned Doc/Amarety/Worpel to Dawson/Day/Samson.

Yet if Day out, Worpel looks better.
Buddy is out, not sure Mclean in, maybe Amartey looks better.

$5k short of Doc>Dawson and Amartey>Kysiah Pickett.

Only have 10 premiums plus Setters, Ziebell, Hopper, Sheezel.

If Day escapes suspension, is Doc/Worpel/Amartey > Day/Gulden/KPickett insane?

Daicos Doc Stocker Ginbey Mckenna Jones (Constable/Cowan)

Oliver Bont Green Setters Hopper Worpel Ashcroft Mackenzie (Holland/Pou/Baker)

English Marshall (Esava)

Dunkley Taranto Rozee Ziebell Sheezel Chandler (Amartey/Greene)

Docherty - > Constable (if named , highly doubt it though) or Haynes

Need to try and get creative and generate some cash until my bench rookies are ready to be culled (pending more Bubble Boys actually being available)

Coniglio , Day , Duncan , Gulden , Hawkins & Miller all on the watch list.

Ashcroft - > Boak for profit could be highly likely as well :)

Heeney possibly under $ 400k as well soon

Wines possibly under $ 400k as well soon

For those that have Day, some thoughts to consider when weighing up the trade v no trade question.

Worst case it is 2 rounds which you cop, say, 120 points over the next 2 rounds (6 points per round) with his rookie replacement. Assuming Day averages 105 from here that only brings his effective average down to 100.

On the flip, trading him loses you a trade and lets say you get 220 points from the trade in target (110 ppg), you are losing 180 points in total (10ppg). There will also be a cash differential from Day's price to the next best premium so deploying that cash as soon as possibly, if holding Day, will close that 180 point spread.

So the question comes down to, is a trade worth <180 points? Changing assumptions will also chnage the trades worth so really comes down to the assumptions you make (very easy to model).

If his penalty is reduced to 1 week, it's an obvious no trade.

Edit: My numbers are modelled to the end of the season.

BE of 14 and inside mid role I think he’s a must hold at 2 weeks or less.

Really looking like a top 6-8 defender with the inside mid and centre bounce attendance stats.

I'm tempted to boost; get Ryan and JVR in and trade Docherty out; very aggressive. I did weigh up trading Madden to Ryan last week but decided against it (only to realize a day later that I'd already spent my $20k bank going Chesser to Phillips).

Was going to go through this week with no trades, now have Doc and Day to deal with, so in the words of a wise sage....

"DON'T PANIC"

Plan was to upgrade Setters and Ashcroft next week to Clarry with Miller the target the week after, have 52k ITB which would have been enough to get Clarry.

I'm not really happy with using that 52k to get a replacement for Doc and to get one of my preferred replacements for him then I'd have to use 2 trades as well.

So if I have to use 2 trades then I'll just bring my upgrade target in a week early and then try to bolster my defence along with the addition of Sheezel next week, if Day get's 1 week then that will be like a triple upgrade in my defense and boy will I need it as I'll be going through some pain this week running Redman-Ginbey-McKenna-Michallanney-Wilmot-Cowan.

Doc > T Young
Ashcroft > Oliver
40k ITB

Next week

Setters > Daicos
Whoever has the Highest BE of my rookies > D Williams

Hopper + Whoever > Miller the week after.

Probably a convoluted way of doing things, but hey! I'm having fun, right?.......Right?
