Fergus Greene injured?
https://www.afl.com.au/afl/matches/4852#match-report
He was subbed out in the 3rd Qtr, and no injuries to Hawthorn players
So it must've been tactical?
Which is a concern, since Lewis has come back into the team, his SC scoring output has dropped right off!
Dropped $17k this week, don't know his BE but might have to pull the trigger on him?
Was hoping to keep him until the byes!

Ross said in the press conference that Marshall would have been able to go back on and "... he just rolled his ankle he'll be fine..." - so hopfully he is all good for next week

But is that new fun Ross speaking or the old Ross speaking. In "Old Ross Speak" that kind of comment often saw a late out next round with a "I did not know anything about it comment" when he gets queried. If at any time this week he says "we expect him to be available for selection" then just be prepared.

Geelong’s appeal has failed. Brad Close will miss Round 9’s match against Richmond.

Tribunal reasons:
We regard the tackle as dangerous for two main reasons.

One: At and prior to the moment of impact, he pinned or restrained both of Dawson's arms and particularly had hold of Dawson's left arm and did not release it. As a result, Dawson had no opportunity to protect himself from impact.

Two: Close contributed meaningfully to Dawson being brought to ground. We do not accept that it was solely or overwhelmingly Dawson's momentum that caused him to be brought to ground. Through a combination of Close pulling on Dawson's left arm and pushing on his right arm, he contributed substantially to Dawson's head making contact with the ground.

We accept players tackle by grabbing an arm. But, if the tackler realises or should realise the tackled player is coming to ground with momentum and does not release the tackled players arm that he might have used to protect himself, he will likely have breached his duty of care to that player.

Not only did Close not release Dawson's arm, he held tight and pulled his wrist back as Dawson attempted to free his arm to brace.

As to impact, the force of Dawson's head hitting the ground was apparent. His head bounced on the turf, his momentary pain was visible, there was the potential for facial or concussion injury. We find the impact was medium.
