Ok here it is. Very much a cookie cutter team so I didn't spend too much time making it. Is Rockliff in the mix overkill? 1.4k left in the bank

Def: K.Simpson, H.Shaw, M.Hibberd, B.Waters, S.Edwards, H.Goddard ( M.Fuller, B.Maynard )

Mid: G.Ablett, T.Rockliff, S.Pendlebury, N.Fyfe, J.Selwood, I.Heeney , B.Boekhorst , A.Vandenberg ( J.Laverde, N.Freeman , K.Lambert )

Ruc: N.Naitanui, M.Leuenberger ( M.Cox )

Fwd: B.Deledio, B.Goddard, D.Martin, D.Swan, J.Hogan, M.Clark ( C.Daniel, J.Steele )

Certainly best team I have seen so far. Nothing to fault. Just a bit daunting having the 5 most expensive players in the game in the midfield to start with.

Both great teams mate.
Like the Fisher pick !
Huge midfields, surely we will be able to find 6 rookie starting players who play round 1. This is my only concern but you could downgrade Selwood a little to get some dearer playing rookies if need be.
There's a theory getting around that Read will be a better option than Cox at R3 as Collingwood play early more often than Geelong and if there was a late out in the rucks you wouldn't be able to swing TBC back for cover.
Much coin left over ?
Top job, well done, miss our workplace supercoach chats.
Approx 20k left. Yeah ain't the same at work not at least bringing supercoach up each day. Still having the maddogs league this year? I'm in if so

We have very similar teams. Midfield is tops.
Be hard to get them 5 in later on best to start
with them I believe. Looks good.

Excellent team Courtesans.
Is cookie cutter but I believe most of these guys are must haves.
Have read reviews on most of this years rookies but I must say I don't know much about McGuinness. Have you heard much about him or is he just there as a filler at this stage ?
Excellent structure with a potential 14 keepers.
We have 21 of the same players at the moment but my team seems to change daily.
Hard to fault this team Courtesans - top job.
Thanks Creeker. No I don't know much about McGuinness, I put him in as he won All Australian U/18 defender status in 2014. He is very slight of body.

Great team Emre, be the blue print for many at this early stage.

Hey guys, I know it seems like a great idea but it is a LOT of money. And from a quick look at the last few years, only 3 of the top 5 scorers from any year are in the top 5 the following year. From all the cases that I saw the other 2 fell outside the top 10 the following year. That is a huge loss on these 'locks'. Selwood has featured for the past two years, Pendlebury and Ablett in all years, and Swan before Selwood.

I would see if you could find some better value premium midfielders and upgrade another rookie defender.

I tend to agree

While 5 $600k+ mids look great it is forcing 2 forward and 2 defender rookies on field. The best rookies are usually mids so there's a balance needed with cash generation versus locking in 5/8 of your midfield from the start.

Particularly with all the good M/F forwards available.

I prefer Courtesan's structure at this very early stage.

Some great teams starting to come through.
Most forward lines looking very similar so have tried to throw in a few pods.

H Shaw, M Hibberd, S Hurn, B Waters, B Whitecross, S Edwards.
(D Viojo-Rainbow, N Newman.)

G Ablett, S Pendlebury, R Sloane, T Boak, R Griffin, N Van Berlo, I Heeney, A Vandenberg.
(N Freeman, J Steele m/f, K Lambert m/f.)

N Naitanui, M Leuenberger. (T Bellchambers r/f.)

R Gray, B Deledio, H Bennell, D Swan, M Clark, J Hogan.
(C Daniel, M Cox r/f.)

8/11/11 bye structure. 7k in the bank.

Have no idea about D Viojo-Rainbow, just love his name, so he's in. With a name like that he just has to be able to play.
Bellchambers to play in the forward line most weeks.

Team: mrHaPPy mkIII

DEF: Simpson, Hibberd, Birchall, Hurn, Waters, Fuller (Smith, Maynard)
MID: Ablett, Rockliff, Pendlebury, Selwood, Heeney, Boekhorst, Vandenberg, Laverde (Freeman, Dumont, Krakouer)
RUCK: Minson, Naitanui (Read)
FOR: Deledio, Goddard, Martin, Swan, Clark, Hogan (Goddard, Steele)

Byes: 8/11/11 with 6/5/3 starting premiums.
$49,600 remaining.

Changes made:
OUT: Smith (def), Franklin (for), JPK (mid).
IN: Simpson (def), Hurn (def), Rockliff (mid).

Defensive rookies are usually the lowest scoring, so i have gone with 4 premiums and Waters with just 1 rookie starting on field.
Midfield rookies usually score the best, starting with 4 on the ground should be fine. Having Rockliff and Selwood gives me the perfect round 12 VC/C option, especially against the teams they play that round.
Tossing up between Minson and Leuenberger+140k, they share the same bye so the only difference is durability. I don't trust Leuenberger at the moment, will decide during pre-season comp.
Forwards are standard at this stage.
Rookies are all just place holders until we see what's what during the NAB Challenge.

Not bad at all. JR's site has a write up about V-R.

DEF- Smith, Birchall, Hurn, Waters, S.Edwards, Fuller (Goddard, Rainbow)

MID- Ablett, Pendles, Fyfe, J.Selwood, Danger, A.Swallow, Freeman, Vandenberg (Laverde, Steele, Boekhorst)

RUCK- Naitanui, Berger (Nankervis)

FWD- Deledio, Martin, Swan, J.Martin, Clarke, Hogan (Markworth, Karnezis)

Steering clear of the Bellchambers train. No scientific reason for Jack Martin just a gut feel. Danger and Swallow as my underpriced premo's and I think 5 mid rookies is still plenty for cash generation.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I thought about downgrading Rockliff to Griffen or Dangerfield but then I wasn't too sure where to spend the loose change. It's still early days though, this team will change another 100 times before lockout.

Do you know what I love and hate about this time of year in SuperCoach. It is being able to constantly play with my team. However I kind of like this latest attempt. It started out as a Guns 'n' Rookies strategy, though has ended up with two mid pricers, however there are 13 keepers including 6 Ultra Premiums, but relies on 7 onfield rookies.

Def: B. Smith, H. Shaw, L. Hodge, G. Ibbotson, M. Fuller, H. Goddard (H. Wigg, E. Vickers-Willis)
Mid: G. Ablett, S. Pendlebury, J. Selwood, R. Sloane, S. Sidebottom, C. Petracca, I. Heeney, A. Vandenberg (N. Freeman, T. Dumont, L. Dawson)
Ruc: S. Jacobs, N. Naitinui (M. Cox)
Fwd: B. Deledio, H. Bennell, D Swan, T. Bellchambers, P. Karnezis, J. Hogan (J. Finlayson, J.Steele)
Cash Left: $13,500
Byes: 8/12/10 although as the rookies are place holders this will change.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Only reason for having both Gaz and Rocky is because I love the idea of having Ablett VC behind Rocky just as insurance. Would love another premium forward and to upgrade TBC to an Ivan Maric. And to get rid of Steven for Ward or the likes.

If you want to upgrade Bellchambers and Steven, try dropping a defender. Otherwise team looks fine.

Have been playing around with many options lately, what i don't like about this team compared to previous teams i have had is uniqueness, however a side with proven premos is a safe start. My only big risk is Seedsman with the hope he can cement a role on the HBF for Collingwood and average up around 85-95 (averaged 83 without sub games in 2013) which would be okay for a defence premo score to sit at D6 at the end of the season. Rookies will likely change, just a rough guess for now. Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated, cheers guys.

DEF: H. Shaw, M. Hibberd, P. Seedsman, B. Waters, B. Whitecross, H. Goddard (M. Fuller, H. Wigg)
MID: G. Ablett, S. Pendlebury, N. Fyfe, J. Selwood, J. Watson, I. Heeney, N. Freeman, T. Dumont (J. Laverde, B. Boekhorst, K. Lambert)

Gone against the grain somewhat and going a slightly different strategy and loading up on forwards....

D: Smith, Hurn, Newnes, Waters, Whitcross, Brown (V Rainbow, Goddard)
M: Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, Ward, Van Berlo, Anderson, Freeman, Heeney, (Cavka, Boekhorst, krakouer)
R: Naitanui, Luey (Read)
F: Gray, Deledio, Franklin, Martin, Swan, Clark (Hogan, Steele)

Bye structure: 9/9/12

Cash left: $56,800

Comments:

Forward rookies (or lack thereof), so decided to load up in fwd line. Whilst some people think Gray is overpriced, I still think he'll be top 6 fwd... I'm seeing a lot of teams with Hogan and Clark on the field, can't see both scoring well week after week.....
Rucks - Nic nat and Luey. We all know what Nic Nat is capable of and Luey in a brissie team which is on the up (can see their new midfield sharking a lot of the ball = points). Both classed as injury prone - but to try and win SC you gotta risk it to get the biscuit :)
Midfield - Out of all the lines I think there is a plethora of rookie mids which can make some decent coin. Van Berlo is first to go if there is another midfield choice worth investigating....
Def - pretty standard, not interested in spending the big bucks down there.

Have a bit of coin left over for the inevitable rookie swaps, but most rookies selected are not basement price and in a perfect world should actually gain coin if there are cheaper rookies looking good closer to round 1. Settled on the team somewhat and will eagerly await rookies closer to the date.

Cheers!
