Was thinking during this early stages of planning if there was a noticeable difference in TOG % for some players last season which differed from their career averages and/or previous seasons??

As an example I remember watching Grundy some games last year and he sat on the bench in the final quarters (probably due to Buckley managing players accordingly) and thus reducing his scoring potential. He had 89% TOG in 2019 but only 84% in 2020.

Does anyone have a list of players who had a reduced output (hard to quantify what "significant" might be) last year based on TOG alone? Might be something that @Connoisseur has completed sometime previously?

M Gawn:
RD1: Avg VS Freo since 2015: 136.2 from 5
RD2: Avg VS StK since 2015: 118 from 11
RD3: Avg VS GWS since 2015: 135.17 from 6
RD4: Avg VS Geel since 2015: 103.57 from 7
RD5: Avg VS Haw since 2015: 141.4 from 5
RD6: Avg VS Rich since 2015: 150.6 from 5
RD7: Avg VS NM since 2015: 138.4 from 5

Last 3 matches against each side:
132+151+151
135+133+126
150+149+156
141+116+93
185+127+112
163+134+145
212+117+111
= 139.95 from 21 (1/21 below 100, 16/21 120+, 7/21 150+)

No but happy to provide TOG (career and season averages) for requested players which are accessible at Footywire as pointed out by @Ironhawk below.

Don't know of a list for this. You can find all player TOG stats here, and check individual players across the two years I guess:

Perhaps my original question was poorly worded haha.... Yes i'm aware of footywire and manually going through names to try and find differences. The question should have queried who has had the most noticable TOG drop off in comparison to previous seasons. Was just curious if someone has an existing spreadsheet or similar instead of manually going through names and doing a comparison....

Figured you would.

I might have a look into it tonight if nobody else comes up with anything.

Thoughts on scrimshaw? Does he take kick-ins due to Sicily injury?
Thought on Milera @ 310k has he got value?

I don’t reckon Scrim will take many kick ins. Hardwick might get a few, Day probably takes a few and I reckon Greaves if he plays will take some. Not sure if Hartley plays either but he’ll take some if he plays. Scrimshaw might have value as an intercept defender though with Sicily out. Can take a grab and has a long kick on him.
Milera has value but gets injured all the time. His name comes up every pre season.

I didn't so much look at changes in TOG, but I did do a comparison of the top season averages in 2019 compared to 2020 for each position.

For example, the 5th to 8th best rucks in 2020 averaged 6% more than the 5th to 8th best rucks in 2019. That number is 8% for rucks 9 to 12. Due to the shorter quarters, many of the 'middling' rucks played greater minutes and all boosted their averages in 2020. I'm expecting to see these numbers drop back down this season.

Do you think hatley plays 100% mid at Adelaide? What’s your thoughts on what he averages?

No idea really. I’d assume he plays mainly mid but they’ve got a few young guys who could take some time off him. And can see him averaging around 90 or so. He might have some big games but I think he’ll have his share of lower scores as well. One to monitor.

Thinking around 80-85 for Hately. At 20-21, the better scoring mids on average add about 25% to their previous season average.

Drop in time on ground % 2019 to 2020 home and away games. Minimum 7 games both years.

Love that table freowho. Just need to be careful with some of the guys near the top of the list. Ziebell only played 8 games and effectively spent 2 of them injured on the bench. Shuey sat on the bench for most of 1 game. Tucker got injured 2 mins into a game and didn't return for the season. Darcy was injured early in the season a lot. Stewart missed over 3/4 of a game.
