I think I'm going to lock in Lloyd - Stewart - Short - Whitfield

Welcome any thoughts why I shouldn't pick any 1 from that group of 4. Seem like such overwhelmingly positive picks.

I have all four myself. No complaints from me.😎

I'll bite

I've currently got Lloyd, Crisp, Whitfield and Hewett. Nothing against your choices per se, but I found when I put 4x$500k defenders in I ended up with rookies on the midfield and forward bench and maybe even at F6 who look like they either won't play or will score terribly.
The extra $140k from Hewett gets a guy like Josh Ward at M9 and Rachele at F6 and I think guys like that could be very important this year.

Nothing wrong specifically, just seems like spending over $220k on D1-D4 seems a bit excessive. Where are you saving money on the other lines?

Agreed, having someone like Ward on the bench is a waste. Arguably, the only line where this could be considered would be the rucks (i.e.: Preuss @ R3).

They don't get the ball into his hands as much as they used to a couple of seasons ago, they have a few players now who are good at exiting their backline.

i think get the cash cows and rookies across the field right first then go back and see if you can still afford that backline.
Personally there’s now no way I can afford Stewart over Sicily for example.

I mean really the only questions that can be thrown at it is Whitfield's durability and perhaps some limited value on the other picks but I'm definitely clutching at straws to find a counterpoint against them.

It's just a really solid group.

Reckon you can throw a blanket over 7 or 8 defender premos and I wouldn't say any of them are bad picks.

Not locked at all, but structurally he saves me nearly $200k off my 4th favourite premo defender.
Which in turn saves me from turning someone like Oliver into Brayshaw or Jelly and allows Preuss on the bench at R3 for some giggles.
