DEF
Weighing up Dawson vs Ridley and Milera vs Rioli, but comfortable with these two for now. Keen to see a bit on Ridley's role.. if he's freed up via the Kelly inclusion and that gets him back to kick outs.. LOCK! I reckon he's an outstanding user of the ball so as a Bomber's supporter I hope that's how it goes. Liking the structure of 3 prems, 1 mid price, and then whatever rookies present regardless of price, but bailout option is to swing Coleman back if the forward rookies appear instead.
MID
Weighed up Macrae but I'm genuinely a bit nervous at his price. I think Dunkley gets a little more mid time and it has to come at the expense of someone.. they've played Macrae on the wing at times before and I just don't have confidence he can maintain scoring at a level that justifies that price tag. Don't get me wrong, I think he'll score extremely well and at 600k would be a lock.. but that price is a stretch for mine.
But more about who I did pick! Really like the way Steele and Miller go about it and think they have some good extra strings to their bow via tackling and goal kicking. Think both can be a safe C option and play later enough over the first few rounds to give some flexibility. Neale picks himself and I think a fully fit Mitchell is worth it at that price as can see a run similar to the second half of last year.
Probably the only potential change here is Mitchell out and another prem on a different line given the glut of mid rookies.
RUCKS
Darcy has the ceiling and just needs to bit fit and he's in - better to build the team around his higher price point though than need to break a structure to find the cash. Grundy I feel is best of the rest, and can see him really rebounding to what he can achieve now that the pandemic is shifting towards the endemic stage and things are a lot more eased up.
FOR
As per above I think Dunkley gets enough mid time to be a clear top forward. Heeney I think gets close with the role he sounds like getting (and if the body holds up).. and I just love the way Butters goes about it. He'll have some scoring variance (80-130 range on any given week) but think he ends up close to the top forwards and just needs his body to stay right. Probably the most vulnerable player in my team at the moment though so we'll see.
