He was heading towards a 90+ at 3QT but spent the majority of the last on the bench, someone posted earlier something like 20mins so essentially didn't get a chance to add to his 3QT score. What he did he did well but did nothing when Freo made their charge and ultimately fell over the line, Chapman took 20+ points for that final spoil alone.
The more pertinent questions I have are...
  • Did JL not trust him when they had to go and win the game in the last quarter...?
  • Was he completely tanked by 3QT...?
  • Lowest TOG for team at 65%
I'll be following closely on how he's being used for the next game, hopefully we see Fyfe back in the team. If his TOG trend continues and/or Fyfe has a negative impact on his role then those are genuine red flags for mine.
My Guess was the Tank was empty. Ran last in preseason time trail.

DE killed his score.

CCJ was awful, playing the 3 of them really hurt North in the 2nd half/ did not have enough run. Goldy again looked decent up fwd & Xerri in the ruck. Can't see how CCJ plays again this week, it was very obvious they went in too tall & he was the poorest player out of those 3 by far.
CCJ awful, thats being kind. We get another look at Xerri this week end.

^^^This^^^

I was cursing and searching for an OUT for him as soon as I saw the first replay of that hit, I had feared more than just the concussion though.

Next thing, he's got up and jogged to the next contest at continued to do Rowell's things. He was massive in the last part of the game which ultimately broke the game open for his team.

Still a little 'nervous' whether that hit would've any delayed effects so will be following closely.
One minute after the collision, eyes where clear.

One tough Nut.

Never watched Brodie closely before but did yesterday. Can see he is very good in a stoppage situation but his ability to spread needs work. This was compounded by the heat and by the end of Q3 and start of Q4, he was barely jogging after a stoppage. I believe this is why he spent a lot of time on the bench during the last quarter and I’m speculating here but if I was JL, I’d rather have guys who are able to physically play their role for the team in such a tight contest, especially in terms of applying pressure/tackling and providing an option around the ground.
Also, I think quite a few players tend to blow up in the early rounds - might be nervous energy and not pacing themselves as well as they might later in the year.

If he and Fyfe are selected in the same team, that's a very good sign for mine.

Mine said to trade Macrae to Rowell! There is usually some insane trading in the "perfect team" analysis at the end of the year.. maybe trade assist knows something...
Mine says Steele out for Rowell :ROFLMAO:
Mine says Gawn for Hayes ;)
Trade optimiser. Dixon to Martin and Crisp to Hewett. Also, you can BOOST the trade optimiser too, adds Josh Ward to Luke Foley!

The AI looks at trades that are currently happening and applies to your team.

Is this a consideration, absolutely. Although Berry to Martin can get Chapman to Hewett if I really wanted to go down that path, just maybe others are not doing that trade. Give it another week, I may do Dixon to Preuss.

Will Brodie's 23 possessions 9 contest with 8 tackles, 76%DE, 4 clearances and 3 free kicks only got him 76 points got me stumped 🤔
70% If that game time
I thought stats like that would push him closer to 100
Well first of all those stats aren't right (not sure where you've pulled them from?), but he had 22 disposals, 5 tackles and 63% DE. More handballs than kicks never help with a low DE either.
He spent 20min of the last quarter on the bench and scored 90% of his points in the first three quarters. With a close game, expect Q4 scoring was doubled and the first three quarters are scaled back from 75% to 60% off the scoring. Unadjusted it may have been closer to 85 points. Just my take - own him as well.

DO WE TRADE THIS WEEK - Put your hand up if you brought Tex Walker in last year...................in round 2! I did Neale to Tex in round 3, Tex wasn't even a consideration into round 2. Week 2 moves prices more, injuries can happen in round 2, two data points are a trend, one is not and this year we have trade boost.

I liked what he did on field actually (ignoring fantasy stats) .... to me he will work very well with Fyfe when he comes back ...

I think he is very much best 22/ good JS - don't pretend to be a suns expert though lol.
Seems like he has taken over Hugh Greenwood's role, suns have a very potent midfield that are great in their clearance work.
Had my eye on Davies throughout the game. Went alright in Q1 and early Q2 but then went missing for nearly an hour. Was on 60 points with about 5 minutes to play before kicking a goal and helping set up another. Still had plenty in the tank by the looks. Really good finish to the game and probably scaled for it.

Having said that, he looks really good. Tallish, rangy dude with a bit of toe and agility. Doesn't take a backwards step either. Can't see him spending much time on the inside yet but will definitely go when it's his turn. It's a pity he's not 123k as he would be good to pick up just to watch. I do wonder if he will be able to maintain a 75 average for 7 weeks though. Is one of the guys (along with Durdin) I'll be watching closely this week.

Ward had a better role than Rachele, reckon that ones has got regret written all over it. Has to be a better way to do it and I'd give another week regardless.

Rachele kicked 5 goals, at home against one of the weaker sides in the comp (especially when missing Darcy, Fyfe and Taberner). I really rate him but that's the anomaly game, not the norm.
Definitely not expecting Rachele to put in that kind of score on the reg but he looks a rippa player and will make cash quick with that first score, even though it drops out first. Ward also looks like a great player but that was a poor first score so just chasing the cash gen with this trade. Don’t think I can get Rachele in next week if I need to deal with other issues, but certainly not committed to the trade. Berry out may change things. Thanks for the feedback, I think using trades before price changes is gonna be pretty important this year, then be a bit conservative until cash cow culling season.

Yeah agreed, strong in the contest and clean too. Mine was more a comment on his tank, especially later in the game. I think his tank was one of the question marks about him during his draft year and perhaps why he hasn’t played as much footy as he could have. Looks like there’s still a bit of work in that area.
The potential to be a good player (and fantasy relevant) is there. Reckon he makes a nice tandem with Fyfe but will be interesting to see it play out. Hope he does well, got him for a reason!

At this stage, the only trade I'm considering is Berry to Lipinski (emphasis on "considering").

Don't have either Hayes or Martin, but can't justify trading out any of the existing rookies to get them (yet, give it another week).

Berry, Xerri and Brodie are issues for me.

NM can't play CCJ, Goldy and Xerri after seeing that on the weekend, interesting to see where they go with this and also Comben coming back into calculations.

Berry poss injury and a case of where's Wally after half time even when fit.

And Brodie exactly as @THCLT mentions above.

Wonder whether Durdin and Rachele can keep the peace in the forwards and see what the extra coin brings
Was at the game. CCJ was barely largeyly unsighted…

My guess is CCJ will be dropped and they’ll play Goldie more forward as they did in that last quarter.
