You have Rosas, Hayes and Hobbs coming through, with not too many players too move on.

Grundy only had the one bad score, Whitfield looks like more of an issue, although, probably worn some price deflation already. Luke Jackson is more of a question mark and at a minimum move forward.

Now is time to upgrade not sideways.

I think given limited downgrade spots you want to maximise capital release, would be think Sam Hayes over Preuss.

Some options:

If saving trades/money this week, Rowell to Green.

If wanting to be more aggressive:

round 6
Luke Jackson to Preuss (assuming he is back), or go early on SHayes or preferably bring in Rosas and move Dixon to rucks.
Rowell to Macrae
Play Hayes at R2

round 7
Dixon to Sam Hayes round 7, Dixon could be dropped by then or closer to max price at $260k given he is a 60 players.
Round 7 also consider Rachele/Dow to Hobbs.
Daicos back for Gibcus, bring in Oliver.
Sam Hayes is your R2

Then you can sit on Jack Hayes if you prefer waiting to go up on Ryder out times, or chop early.

Ultra aggressive

round 6 - Preuss/Rosas/Rowell for LJackson/Gibcus/Macrae

round 7 SamHayes/Hobbs/Olivier for Dixon/Rachele/Dow/JHayes. Slightly better cash balance into round 8.

Just some alternative thoughts.
Don't be so sure - a lot of the lower scoring players are also popular so par for round 5 might be a lot lower than we've seen previously.

I'd still encourage anyone to stick to their plan and target the premos that are slipping in price as you normally would over the next few rounds...
Appreciate the thoughts - a lot to think about. Rowell to Green is very tempting, and then a 1 up/1 down trade to try and upgrade someone else.

Have all of a sudden Grundy, Whitfield, Ridley, Rowell forgotten how to play. Made a mess of my season. Ward to Rosas, suck up the above.
Going to be interesting what people do with Grundy. Personally I won’t be in the suck it up camp and will move him this week. The DPP changes means he can basically go to any premo. For the rucks I already have English, Pruess, Xerri and Hayes (St K) and will somehow bring in Hayes (PTA) in a couple weeks. More than enough coverage to make the move.

I didn’t watch the Freo game but really want Darcy so depending on BE’s can see him as the long term Grundy replacement.

I can also see Grundy coming out and playing really well next week after all the negative press but do think Darcy will outscore long term.

EDIT: Just traded Grundy/Hinge/Hall to Pendles/Steele/Rosas and like it a lot.

Don't think with the likes of Gibcus and SDK that I'd want to cover Hall for even a 3 week hammy

So he's on the chop, as well as Rowell.

In another random question, does anyone have Cogs BE? Outside of that spike game he looks like a 90 average kind of guy, which only puts him 30-40k below peak price (barring another spike )...

Brayshaw, Touk, or Petracca? Likely to bring in Touk next week if not this week, just slightly worried about the Berry tag.

Doing Grundy to Preuss, Mead to Rosas, Stephens/Ward to X.

A 90 avg is essentially a keeper fwd. No need to trade him - the goal should be to push him to F7 or if he’s avg 100, just keeping him at F6.

Grundy > Preuss
JHF > Bont

Also considering moving Ridley on. Looks like a 90 to 95 average player. Might hold for 1 week. If Luke Mcdonald gets all of the seagull work that Hall leaves behind its a straight swap and 100K in the bank.

Going agressive to see what can pull from this season. Toying with Grundy out as with preuss and s Hayes coming thru there is slot $$ to be made on the ruck line.
Option 1 - Grundy, ward, Rowell to Preuss, Petracca and baz.
Option 2 - hinge, Rowell and berry to rosas, Petracca and baz.

Now I am thinking of holding Reg 😀

Hinge - > Preuss
Durdin - > Rosas
Rowell - > Petracca

Got Brodie , Gresham , Martin & Rachele all in my mids

Round 7

Dixon - > S Hayes
Midpricer - > Miller (if tackling again)
Midpricer - > Oliver
