Looks like Flynn is their R1 right now.

Moved to Hayes personally but will see what his prospects look like. If nothing at all on the horizon I move to donut but that's the last resort.
I'm really hoping we see Luke Strnadica get a list spot at the Eagles in the next week or so... I think he will with our lack of ruck stocks, and I can see him actually playing a fair bit this year if he does make it onto the list. Will be dirt cheap.

I'd be surprised, they've definitely got a filter set to require some kind of performance drop. Last year Petracca never got forward despite playing there more than any of the guys who actually did and the only reason I can see is because his scoring hadn't dropped (DT). Pretty sure they use it more as an "interest" mechanism so people with failed picks get a second chance but do everything possible to avoid changes that will fundamentally impact the integrity of the positions.

Basically if Gawn is forward enough to actually get FWD, you'll be getting bailed out of a bad starting pick anyway, at least assuming Grundy and any of the other rucks sustain premium levels!

I've also put Gawn into my side, I hate the pick but when the alternatives are a Darcy who has already had multiple issues and NicNat, well perhaps you just eat the 10-15ppg loss.

If only there was a Hickey type this year
Petracca can still move up alongside the other mids at a stoppage but Gawn is unlikely to move up alongside Jackson. Hawkins does a lot of ruckwork in the forward line for Geelong but it doesn't make him a mid.

It's also never made him a ruck ;)

I mean it's always possible and just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it wont, heck SC don't have to use the same rules as AFLF for position changes either. AFLF has always been better at protecting the integrity when making big decisions than SC, just have to see the approaches of the two comps the last two years to see that huge difference where one comp did everything to make things fair and the other actively went about widening the gaps with their "corrective" actions.

Given Gawn has worked his way into my side, I'd love if they bail me out when he scores how I expect and I'm raging at picking him

Name a midpricer you trust
Witts at the expensive end, maybe makes $100k. King going down should see Witts spend more time rucking with Chol fwd.

Would you go Max King if picked? didn't see CBA's. thought welcome, appreciate we are thinking of going down the same path.

What do the two have to do with each other?
Darcy has mixed injury history, without a genuine back up, feels like risk increases starting him. What happens if out for two games.

Similar to Woggies comments on fwd/ruck back up, that has been a. disaster for years, burns me every time.

I'd be much happier risking Darcy with a playing R3 rookie.

You have 35 trades, just use one IMO. Or cop the doughnut; it's what, 50 points lost, if that?

Fully expect theyll play Meek occasionally to help get Darcy through the season, for all last years troubles he still played 21 games not sure its that much of an issue.

I expect Bailey Williams to be given first crack at it... But it's a big year for him, He's had several years in the system now and our ruck stocks are very thin. If Williams can't deliver in the first 3-4 rounds... and that means in the ruck as well as up forward because his forward craft is not quite where it should be... then I'd say Strnadica would get a call up. He has shown really good forward craft last year in the WAFL and was one of, if not the standout ruck in the WAFL... So I expect him to get games at some stage if he is signed.

Time for West Coast to save our Supercoach seasons, the most unlikely of heroes.

Surely Dixon gets a call up to help out the Weagles fwds?

Yeah I'd say Strnadica & Dixon are the first 2 to get contracts.

Then depending on what we do with Darling which looks like he will be placed on the inactive list... that gives us a 3rd pick.... Ex-BRI mid Tom Joyce was pretty impressive during the intra-club last week. I'd say we are chasing a mid too for that 3rd spot.

I know he isn't a midpricer, but your basically going to pay for what you get with Goldstein.

When is the last time he missed a game?
I have enormous concerns with Goldy this year given how they've used him all preseason and even at times last year, it sure seems Noble wants to move on without saying he's moving on!

He's also at the right age to decline significantly when he has to improve to hold his starting price. Basically if they're over 400k they need to improve or you're cancelling out half the point of starting them in the first place which is to wait for Gawn to correct to the 113 mark or Darcy to prove he's fit and going to be huge.

That last part is the other scare, if Darcy pushed 130+ then you're probably still looking at a full upgrade from where ever you replace him.

You have 35 trades, just use one IMO. Or cop the doughnut; it's what, 50 points lost, if that?
That's a trade or 50 points lost on 37% of teams right now as well as to anyone who did have cover and Darcy, say it's 3% and you get a nice 40% of teams. Awful lot of teams to be giving a significant edge to.

God I hate the rucks, every year those 3 spots seem to manage to waste more time than the other 27!

Joyce could be a good pickup if he can stay fit. He's definitely got some talent, just a victim of bad luck with injuries and a list spot squeeze at the wrong time.
