Comben always had great job security regardless.

Strangely enough I was on Footywire looking at all the rookie scores when I saw your post.

I don't own any of those mentioned players (yet) do have a Rioli in my side just hope he keeps performing 😉

I do have Baker , Chesser , Cowan & Greene though who hopefully all improve their scoring or they could already be causing concerns/issues , I guess that is what Round 3 correction trades are for though.

I've got a small eye on McInnes if he gets a start this week after scoring well as the sub last week (similar numbers to Phillips), but he'd probably need a ton to have me look particularly closely.

It feels like Rd 3 corrections is where the season can either go well, or go completely sideways.

With Kozzie out for 2, i would say he safe for 2 weeks. McVee, Laurie and Sparrow all go before him in my view, even Melksham might go before him. Ideally you want him to play at least 5 more, and if he keeps playing well I reckon he will.

Both had an underwhelming first game, at least in SC terms.
Are they likely to have enough JS to be a slow burn or will they get bumped out?

Greene I think is fine, can't see him not getting games and could be a slow burn. Chesser is probably more a concern, will give him another week and then correct.

West Coast are one of the oldest lists in the comp. They need to play the kids every week to see where their list development is heading, I think he will play regularly but with an occasional rest.

Role, time on ground and opportunities are still more important than supercoach score.
Don't trade so your round 2 team looks how you wish your round 1 team had looked.
Swapping a $100k profit rookie for a $150k profit rookie is not making you $150k.
Rookie Touk Miller and rookie Paddy Cripps say hello.

That is a good call. Swapping out a Greene for Pou is not necessary a good trade even if Pou makes an extra $50K.
But swapping a good rookie for a non playing rookie is what correction trades are all about. There are some exceptions like Sheezel and maybe Philips who are looking like good on field options.

How much ruck he plays is the question.

Based on last year, it looks like it could be 30% or more if he’s seen as taking Xerri’s role (not sure that this is a safe assumption, admittedly). Xerri played a minimum of 30% last year, and Goldy played 2 matches above 72%. New coach obviously, it may depend on how much Goldy can handle near term.

Even CCJ had 33% last year, with a 0 game included in round 1.

Id be hesitant to use a correction trade on Phillips, already been left out of the starting 22 once, have to question how much better money making capacity he has over the guy you are trading surely.

Some wise boffins hereabouts recommended not starting with any loopholes, but with 30 green dots, because come round 2 we will most likely have our non-playing loophole regardless.
Well for those of us who ignored such sage advice and now have extra unplanned loopholes coming into round 2 and likely beyond, is it worth considering trading out Madden at R3 and bringing in Ratugolea this round and letting him slow burn away?
Is some potential earnings from the now unutilized R3 worth the trade or is it too late?
