Now the problem for Dawson/Laird VC people is, the score you're getting off your bench, to lock in the donut as C.
My wife has Laird VC
Cowan (42) E on the Def bench, no good.
Hollands (64) E on the Mid bench. To lock it in, it means benching Mackenzie. If Mackenzie goes 90, and he could with Day out and a potential role change, you are giving up 26 points, to lock in 134. That seems disadvantageous.
Chandler (YTP) on the Fwd bench. But the decision on Hollands needs to be made before Chandler plays, as Davey is the donut.

So, locking in Lairds 135 means either:
Locking in Hollands 65, and hoping Mackenzie doesn't go big.
Or
Ignoring Hollands, and hoping Chandler (and Mackenzie) goes well enough as you've locked his score in over Hawthorn's Greene.

Will probably do the 2nd one. Prolly.
There's 335 points already locked in with Laird + Hollands. Mackenzie could be 50, could be 90. Best case scenario, gets 90, which case you still need your C getting 112.5 to equal the combo. But if he gets 50, you need 150 from your C. You've got safe and solid scores already, why risk it?

Played: J Dawson and R Laird

Yet to play:
Friday: A Brayshaw and J Hopper
Saturday: W Ashcroft, J Dunkley, C McKenna, D Wilmot, H Sheezel, J Ziebell. K Chandler, C Oliver (VC), M Bontempelli, T English (C) and J Horne-Francis
Sunday: T Stewart (new recruit), R Gibney, J Kelly, C Mackenzie, N Daicos, R Marshall and M Phillipou

J Dawson once again with a great score reducing the pressure on the rookies to score well and to compensate for any subpar games from rookies or premiums alike. No VC on Laird for another of his 130+ to add to my collection but hopefully the duo of Oliver and English can match it.

I would've VC'd Laird or Dawson for sure but you mustn't mind of the stress of waiting until mid Saturday afternoon to see how your VC goes :D
Crazy S.O.B I hope it works out for you :)

Anyone, possibly any wce supporters know how bad Cole's inj is? Stuffed my plans for this week's trades, he's been pretty mediocre, selected him over McKenna pre R1 which was a mistake compounded by being unable to get McKenna in before prices went up when Gawn went down, Setterfield bubble, etc.. Is Cole's inj only 1 week? Cheers.

No vc tonight. Wasn’t really expecting Laird to get off the leash tonight, so I’m pleasantly surprised at his effort. Obviously no Dawson, but I’ll just have to ride that like the no English train I’ve been on. Cowan on the E and unlikely to be utilised.

Davies (C) Baker with the (E) Mackenzie on field.

No Chance im passing on Laird VC score.

The scenario was never dodging Laird's score, but how to best navigate the handcuff.
Because I'm of the opinion Mackenzie could go 85-90 with a better role, due to Day being out.
Suddenly it becomes you're giving up 20-25, to lock in a 135 point VC score, to keep a loop in Fwd line active.
It comes down to locking in the 65, and keeping the Chandler/Greene loop, or locking in both Mackenzie and Chandler.
Either way, Laird's 135 x 2 is locked in.
I'm leaning towards the 2nd option.

i think the 5:10 pm Friday Fremantle Gold Coast game might catch a few people out for loops too…
I was worried for a nano second then I realised I only have Constable who isn't named and was only click bait for a Cowan/Wilmot switch if required! An, yep you guessed it rolling with Wilmot! 🤣🤣
I wouldn't want to be a Witts owner though! Rock solid last year and now the ruck curse has struck again! Geez those rucks eh! hows that saying go ‘cant live without them….‘ but life sure would be better 🤣🤣

Thinking the same VC Darcy, only concern is Moyle out rucked Marshall (stats based didn’t see game, could be based on last 1/4 when Marshall was subbed) and forecast of rain in a suburban ground. Darcy a better tap ruck than Marshall so could be an option.

Anybody see the game how does Moyle look as a competitive tap ruck?
Saw a little bit of the game, definitely looked stronger and bigger than Marshall in the CBA’s.
Cant say for the taps to advantage though, it was a busy shift!
