Just his scoring history I guess, if he reverts back to that you've got a big fail for 440 grand, could be his breakout year I guess, who knows?
No risk, no reward right?
Thats what im hoping for if i end up going him over baker

I am interested in Owens from the Saints, but don’t know as much about his role as I’d like/ as I should.
Saints fans.. is he a fixture in the fwd line? Does he get up the ground into an on-ball rotation?
Have been looking for a heat map on the AFL site.. are they still available there?

Thanks @Diabolical.. sorry if I'm being thick, but can you explain the navigation path for the heatmap?

Back to Owens, that info indicates he's a bit too much of a fwd to maintain his current scoring (IMO) especially with some tougher oppositions coming up.
I think I might switch my focus to Kozzie, but I have a bad track record of going the wrong way on these sort of 50-50 moves.

Soooo many options. I have Nank and Doc to deal with. Others on the chopping block are Callaghan and Ridley. Really don’t want to use a boost but I feel like I might have to.

Option 1:
Nank>English
Doc>Daicos
Callaghan>Ryan
+$44.6k

I’m probably leaning towards this option as it gives me the 2 players hurting me the most and also Ryan in the FWD line able to cover the RUC line if required.

Option 2:
Nank>Darcy/Grundy
Doc>Daicos
+$47-54k

Option 3:
Nank>English
Doc>Barrass
+$49k

Option 4:
Nank>Ryan (R2)
Doc>Daicos
Ridley>Saad
+$327k
Would then be able to get English and a rookie (likely Williams) next week and swing Ryan to the FWD line.

Would love to hear others thoughts on which option is the best in their opinion.

In some pretty dire territory. Could go Hollands to JVR via Dunkley, but not sure. Feel like my team isn't as bad as I'm scoring each week... just getting my coin flips wrong. View attachment 55430
Bumping this... because I think I'm going to hold onto my trades this week. Nothing jumps out at me. Another bad week from Bowes and he's gone I reckon. Happy to hear any other thoughts though.

I am not sure on desktop. In the app you just go to the match, select players tab, then click on the player and the heat map comes up with his stats.

I don’t think you need to make any hasty moves. If Ginbey stalls then next week you could trade him out for Williams via Sheezel DPP & upgrade Bowes to Day.

He was in everything on Saturday night, a real purple patch. Flying across packs to clunk contested grabs, kicking freakish goals and handing a couple off. Explosive player.

I wouldn't pick a teenaged second-year forward at $363k off the back of an outlier 143. He had a career-best 19 contested disposals in a 9-goal win with Jack Steele watching on, he won't be doing that too often. The Saints forward structure will change significantly over the course of the season too (Membrey and Billings to return shortly, King and Hayes later) so plenty of uncertainty about role.

Current plan

Goater -> cheapest bubble boy (any line)
Witts -> English

Had been hoping to add 80k to the bank, with a view to starting upgrade season over the next couple of week, and instead I'm spending money on a sideways.

Anyone have any other thoughts?

I'd need 3 trades to turn something like Goater, Callaghan, Phillipou into Jackson, Ryan, McLean

That would keep Witts and move me towards a lineup shape that I'd want later in the season with Jackson the R/F swing in case of injuries, from F6/7. But I'd still be losing points, would lose a boost and also leave myself bereft of spare cash for upgrade season.

Otherwise can gamble on Ratagolea vs WCE (and on Witts being back next week). A pity Geelong isn't playing early.....

A similarly priced player, playing in the StK forward line, who had 132 last weekend is Jack Higgins. I'm thinking no one is picking him, but it's worth remembering that as a junior he was a supercoach scoring machine. Back to back tons, maybe he's found his role under Lyon? I'm in no way advocating, but there's only 1.6K between them. One is 19, and the other is 24, and how you see the differences in ages (ie perhaps tire and be rested, mature body, ready to breakout, no history of consistency etc etc) might influence how you see their value at the same price

Anyone considering Grundy in (for say Marshall) short term, to then flick to Gawn in (probably) 4 weeks after his zero has washed out? Grundy likely to get above $600k (currently $540k), and Gawn will end up sub $500k...cost two trades but potentially score an extra 100 points over the period...too creative / wasteful? Felt like a better idea before I started writing it down...

...actually Marshall playing against no ruck this weekend, forget I said anything

if you are on desktop try DFS website. Select AFL at top and then players. Add players name and then scroll down to see a table with heat maps on right hand side.

Option 4 seems quite DEF heavy, especially if you plan to switch Sheezel or Ziebell back (although I’m unclear on why this is so popular).

Option 1 looks by far the best if you think Ryan is a good rookie. English and Daicos both look like top liners.

I’m a bit unsure on Ryan - he got subbed off with two disposals in R3 - but can see the potential for good scoring if he gets some ruck time. Could you get JVR instead? Or Will Phillips or even M Johnson?

Option 2 and 3 both look okay. I’d rather compromise my premos outside of the ruck line if that’s the tradeoff.
