is this too sideways? have no trust in touk(only seems to go well at home when GC are actually decent) and have had enough of english's soft ass

grundy has a really easy run home and dont think i can keep deathriding ryan

would be going merrett next week into rankine the week after, likely leaving 3 trades left for the rest of the season with mckercher looping def/mid and dowling mid/fwd(like his js)

Settled on some trades that (somewhat) please me.
Two down one up and a boost to sideways Petracca.

Petracca, Comben, Clohesy and Graham to Serong, Zorko, Dowling and McMullin.

Leaves me with the bare 18 playing this week as long as Naicos is named unless Harcia is named but needed Combens cash to make the two upgrades work.

Still have Dawson, Bowes, Zilliams, Stewart in def with Oliver in mids and would like to know what Zilliams needs to get DPP round 18 if anyone has that available or can point me to it.
Not a student of the rules so some assumptions are most likely wrong nor am I a maths wiz, but he needs 35% forward time upto end of Rd 17. 8 games from the first 8 played were entirely defence. Missed Rd 9. Rd 10 moved forward during the game or vice versa but still fairly heavy in the defence. The last 3 games mainly forward. Gives him 3 more games to get that 35%. You need to way up the reasons he moved forward, which was a lack of confidence (I think thats what I heard), Saad back, small forwards not doing well, are some that come to mind.
Has he enjoyed his freedom, gained his mojo and gets moved back between now and Rd 17/18?
Where does Voss think he better serves the team after the bye?
His scoring looks solid enough as a forward, to at least consider holding.
If gains D/F loop assuming he works in with Fisher? But can his cash work a better deal this round and get you more pts on field this week?
Hope that helps 🤷‍♂️
Are you worried that he has the bye next week and might not be there after it?
Nah, your right, not a sound play switched Fished to defence and hopefully McMullin gets a full game, well 2 😀
Just a very long wait until 3pm Sunday!

I don’t see that much value in the English to Grundy trade.
Think you’ll need that trade on the run home, if you are only leaving yourself 3 trades with 10 rounds to go post byes.
On the other hand Miller to Ryan nets you 130/140 pts this week plus 20 or 30 each week after on the deal if he does his job for us!

i like your thought process but with english bye coming up and grundy already past his bye wouldnt grundy also net an extra bit of pts on as well? i guess the whole point of keeping jackson was to cover for the byes tho

i do have slightly more trust in english than i do in miller but feel like he really struggles with physical ruckmen and has xerri 2x on the run home

Walsh > Butters
Steele > Zorko
McAuliffe > Dowling/102k

I estimate that Moore, Sullivan, and Freijah needs to combine for ~250 to afford the trade ins I want next week, if I opt for Dowling. If I opt for a 102k player, they only need to combine for ~205. Sullivan’s down game has hurt a bit.

As I said in my previous post, I’ve considered waiting on Zorko with his 187 BE which would make teaching my final team much easier. But I’m pretty confident I’ll go for him this week. When playing in defence at the Gabba this year, Zorko has gone: 127, 130, 160, 161. In that order too which means his scores have been trending up every week. This week he plays the Saints who are well known to give up huge scores to defenders, last week was a great example, and at the Gabba. Grabbing him this week and using the VC on him is well worth it in my opinion.
Thinking a slightly different plan is the way to go. Would mean my bench on the run home has McKercher, Freijah, Sullivan, Dowling, and 4 duds. The old plan had Jackson, McKercher, and 6 duds. Also leaves me with 4 trades as opposed to just 3. Running a FWD in the MID line which allows McKercher to cover every line.

Walsh > Zorko
Rowell > Neale/Butters
McAuliffe > Dowling

Round 15:
Steele > Merrett
Moore > Neale/Butters

Not sure which way I'll do Neale and Butters. Cash is not an issue for either set of trades, but it may be useful when trading an injured premo in the future. Going Butters first would lose me cash but also gain extra points as I see Windhager tagging Neale this week. Butters' matchup isn't great though (GWS).

Looking at 21 players this week. 18 premos + Sullivan, Freijah, Dowling.
Round 15 I'm looking at 18 players (all premos) + McKercher if he gets up. Have the third trade in hand if I need to avoid a donut.

Think Rankine post bye makes the lost logical sense as much as I'd ideally get him now.

TRADES:
Moyle-Grundy
Sweet-Kreuger
Rogers-Dowling
250K banked with 9 trades left.

Team post trades, only get to 18 but was always going to be my weakest bye. 1000005230.jpg

Currently have 19 + Sullivan/Harrison if they make the final squad. $280k in the bank, 8 trades and 1 upgrade needed for a final midfielder. Most of the mids I'd like to finish my team with have a bye to come so a little torn on what to do. Thinking I ride the cash a week and then look to get Merrett next week although that will likely require 2 trades unless one of Harrison or Sullivan plays and tons up.

Other option is to bring in a Ridley type, shift Martin to M8 for now and then eventually loop him and Rozee/Green when I bring in Rozee in. Ultimately probably comes down to how valuable 1 extra trade is - 5 or 6 post byes, 5 with a strong final upgrade or 6 with a weaker one.

5 trades with decent cover would be enough, I'd go with the stronger upgrade, you'll at least know you've given it your best effort rather than wondering

Current idea is garcia, Sullivan, freija to zorko, Dowling, Krueger. Which is a weird one because I could do the exact same trades next week and save more money on the breakevens, but zorkos points this week feel worth it.
I also have graham who would be a preferred trade out over the above, but he is the only rookie option I have or am considering bringing in who plays in r15, which matters. Dawson going down really screwed my flexibility.
Edit: zorko is my 22nd premium, so it's just luxury and injury trades from here on, so I'm not critically concerned about maxing cash or guaranteeing long term playing rookies, although that is obviously still a benefit.

This week's trades make me hate myself, and I pretty much vomited as I pushed the complete trades button. I blame Sweet's covid leaving me way short of where I wanted to be. Welcome to my team Cam Rayner and Heath Chapman.

Think I'll take a bit of a risk and bring Simpkin in as F6, cash is limited if I want to add Ryan. Have Petracca on the bench who'll probably go to Rozee next week, then Rankine after his bye to finish the team.

Last thing you want is LTI's over the bye rounds (and poor C scores:rolleyes:) and I copped Crouch who I traded to Petracca, add in a couple of rookies dying and it's thrown the planning out of whack, can still manage 19 this round fielding 3 rookies and 21 next round with 3 rookies again (maybe)

I could trade Petracca this week instead of Wilson and field 20 but Wilson's BE is so high that the amount of cash he'll likely lose will affect my last upgrade.

Would have a think about getting a rookie and a proper premium instead of Rayner and Chapman.

Had a break from SC last few days. Bit of a bye in my own head. Time to ramp it up.

Garcia to Dowling ($199,00) 11 trades. 18 on field including Sullivan.

Then...

I'm pretty committed to taking a punt on Simpkin. To justify it in my brain I'm thinking it will be either Macrae or Powell out. Will bank more coin and can see Simpkin outscoring both. Thinking Macrae out. Powell at least bleeds less cash, plays next week. Out for Rankine or Moore round 16. Although I could make that final move this week and cop the bye.

Would leave me Simpkin, Powell F5, F6. Salem D6. Sexton D7. So have his cash I can unlock.

Welcome any thoughts

I am struggling with the fact that the top rookie trade ins, Dowling, Kreuger and even Schoenmaker all have their bye next round. If I trade one of them in I am faced with more blue dots next week.
If McMullin gets a green dot this evening I might have to go down that path.
Or am I over thinking it? 🤔

I have thought about it, and am still thinking about it. But I thought this place might get some amusement out of my madness

Still, it's not particularly easy given that I didn't want to trade into a rookie with the bye next week.

(That and I don't have that many trades left. There's also a small part of me that thinks Rayner could be a top 15 forward from here, given the way the forwards look.)

After much fiddling it looks pretty simple:
  1. Wilson > Krueger
  2. Garcia > Dowling
  3. Clohesy > Ryan
Gets me to 19 this week even though I hate taking one game players. Even with the two Rd 15 rookies I can send out some combo of Brown/Sullivan/McAuliffe/Freijah next week for Zorko + whatever warm bodies I can find.
