Struggling to figure out if I’m being serious about this comp, or going with the flow…

Going Brazill, Morrison and Vescio to Hampson, Eva and Bohanna.

Good trades?

Just figured out that I can actually keep Brennan and trade Harris instead and have $400 to spare.

Who will score more this weekend?

Brennan against Freo
Or
Harris against St Kilda

Any thoughts much appreciated.
Would cash in bank be better so you can grab Swanson next round? I think it could be handy having flexibility so would trade Brennan

Think I’ll do Swanson, Vesely, Schmidt to J Allen, Hatchard and B Brown!
I am not much of a fan of Brown, as far as I can tell she is a fringe NBL1 (Tornadoes) player who has taken up a different sport in her mid 20's playing Statewide Tassie football I think from the 2020 season and cracked only 1 game last year.

I would love to be wrong but I would be lukewarm at best about her medium term JS and scoring potential, notwithstanding her Round 2 score which should give her the ability to generate short term cash as long as you put her R2 you should be OK but it looks like you are putting her into the utility spot? If so, are there any other rookies who you might consider instead ?

This is useful background as I of course went off nothing else but the score!

I am intending to play Brown over Fuller and Cutting this round (given my all rookie ruck set up). I thought the three rucks might open up some decent flexibility as I could drop the weakest link at a later stage (which may be Brown herself!). Alternate option would be D East I think

I think Fuller is a reasonable first ruck who should be pretty dependable, Cutting scored well as sole ruck and has similar elite State League form as Fuller. If Watt is back this week it may impact Cutting, however Watt is quite flexible and soem weeks may play KPP and release Cutting into the Ruck.

It it no guarantee but I would play either of those 2 ahead of Brown as R1 this week.

East is definitely a goer, did win plenty of ball for WA in last seasons 2 under 19's matches and seems to be getting a AFLWF friendly role along with high tackle numbers. Could see her average in the 40's for the year which are good numbers for first year players - unless your surname is Prespakis or Rowbottom - and would be a good M6/Utility while she earns $$$ before being culled.

From memory the Crows draftees were 19yo and older last season. More likely to break in a strong and seasoned team but also not good enough to be taken in their regular draft year or be tempted to WA or QLD as quite a few state leaguers were. Quite likely to be a good player but not necessarily a high scorer unless it is a friendly role or the player is a manic tackler.

With the AFLW repricing structure I will mostly be ignoring first gamers for second and 3rd gamers unless it is someone really highly rated.

Yeh I won't be going early on any rookies. Start with the 17 BE and increase slightly for the higher picks.

Good wrap on East, thanks for this! I have slotted her in as my U over Brown:)
