Does anybody have an opinion on whether Wes Agar will play the Strikers’ first game?

Like his price for a spot on the bench but would truly suck if he doesn’t get named.

Think he will play, has been in ripping form and bowling fast. Some of my mates that are 'in the system' think he is a genuine chance to play ODIs/T20s for Aus this year.

Just five matches to go before finals and the top 5 teams are still in finals contention. Morris’ team sits top of the ladder and still have two games to play compared to just one game left for 2nd and 3rd so it’s looking increasingly unlikely that he will be here for match 1 of the BBL.

Agar has as much chance as me of playing a ODI/T20 for Australia this year ?

Massive call for NEXT year though , certainly been impressive so far this season.

How many Scorchers/Sixers/Strikers can you have for Round 3 + Morris though and is Agar one that you want ahead of Carey , Rashid Khan etc etc.

Need to be mindful in Round 5 as well when both the Scorchers & Strikers are on the bye together that you don't get a unexpected donut somewhere.

Certainly very tempting at his price to start on the bench though given the lack of viable starting bench options that look likely in that $ 62,500.00 or less price range , I think many will be holding out for Ellis to be named along with Green.

That Round 1 bye is damn annoying for the Strikers though.

Yep. If they beat CTB then they are likely to finish 1st regardless of the result against PR. Would be good if they lose against CTB and play PR in match 28 to decide top spot.

With crunch time getting closer, I thought I should let you know where I am at if I had to field two players per team in Round 1 even though I am still not completely happy with it. Sutherland could easily be Fraser-McGurk and Livingstone could be Agar.

Current side:


Will likely target A Carey in RD3 rather than starting him and the plan for RD2 will likely involve Out: U Khawaja, C Lynn, J Doran, In: R Khan, B Stanlake, P Salt/etc.

Majority of the above side is set apart from the positions currently occupied by F Ashraf, M Gilkes and J Doran.

I wonder how it would perform , both Stoinis & Short would be interesting POD for sure and if they matched last season's performances from the get go......wow

Curran , Sams , Banton , Morris , Philippe will be all popular starters so it would really only leave Livingstone , Ashraf , Steketee & Jewell.

Can you get Jewell to Ellis , then Cartwright to say Handscomb ?

I like it

Not sure how the trading would work each round though.

I like this one too especially with Weatherald & Big Billy on the bench ready to go.

Curran , Khawaja , Maxy , Steyn , Qais giving it massive firepower , and the other 6 all look good too.

That is one very strong side on paper.

Sounds like a great concept but would likely be too difficult.

Took a while but managed to find a team with your listed requirements.

No bowling for him in the foreseeable future.

Have just emailed the ECB to find out when they are announcing the Squads for South Africa & the Lions tour to Australia.

Have also emailed Cricket Australia asking when the ODI Squad is getting announced and a expected departure date to India.

Will update if and when I get a reply.

England Squad expected to be announced Saturday
