I’ve had Siddle pencilled in for some time, and if I was to change that it would actually be for Worrall, given potential cash gen. Siddle is in better Shield form (12 wickets in 4, vs 2 in 2), which is holding me back.
Siddle all day for mine if you can afford him. I can see one or both of Agar/Worral losing overs to a part time spinner.

I no clue what to do with my third trade

I'll go
Spiceman to Neilson
Stoin to Rashid

But now I'm suddenly desperate for Siddle and want to keep Jacks DGW which leaves NCN as my only option to trade out and by doing that I would lose a ton of cash gen View attachment 23351
Well done on your strong start!

I think you could trade Cartwright for Siddle if you wanted? I’d rather not trade Cartwright, but think he’s less of a keeper and less of a cash cow than NCN.

Alternately could you bring in Handscomb instead of Nielsen? I feel I need a Fletcher replacement too, and was even considering Carey in case he played the second game of this DGR. I’ve largely landed on Handscomb instead, but haven’t seriously considered Nielsen given JS risks.

My dilemma is Cartwright > Worral or NCN > Renshaw?

the plan was to trade NCN but that breakeven is hard to ignore.
i have a feeling that Worrall could be this rounds Stanlake but that NCN breakeven is hard to ignore.

I think I've settled on:

Fletcher -> Handscomb
Zampa -> Khan
Hussain -> Renshaw

Means my team will be:

Handscomb (Pfeffer)
Short, Jacks, Weatherald, Maxi, Renshaw (Edwards, Bryant)
Khan, Worrall, Meredith, Ellis and then either Christian or NCN (looped if Bartlett doesn't get named).

5 Hurricanes and 4 Strikers, plus can hold NCN for cash gen and Maxi for the SGRs coming up. Only thing that'll change this plan is if I need to get a cheapie for extra cash to facilitate trades for round 3...

Score: 893
Overall Rank: 4560

Disappointing performances from Lynn, Khawaja and Behrendorff but with NCN and Faulkner not having dual position status which we are accustomed to meant there was not as many alternatives I liked. Tye didn't manage to outscore Behrendorff by a considerable amount and I was planning on getting S Marsh until RD4-6. With Lynn and Khawaja playing at the same time I will have to bench one of them and by using the $50,000 on Worrall last round (that was lying around in case of a potential Lynn/Fletcher to Stoinis trade dependent on the results of the opening game of the season) he will be fielded over Behrendorff.

Trading Hussain to Bartlett ensures I can fund my Striker selections whilst opening up the possibility of keeping both NCN and Maxwell for their bye with Behrendorff and Lynn/Khawaja coming back onfield to replace them.

Trades:
Out: A Zampa, A Fletcher and D Hussain
In: R Khan, P Salt and X Bartlett

I like how you've found a way to keep both NCN & Maxi, Worrall tends to swing the bowl early in the innings which may trouble the out of form Short and rusty Jacks, with your Bartlett pick would you consider Hatzoglou? I'm not sure when the return of Boyce is, but Hatz looked quite good and troubling against Perth, a few more games under his belt and he will have more control of his few loose deliveries he has the Thunder & Perth again in round 6 which I like for him but not quite sure if he will still be in the team

Worrall took 4 for not many runs in the practice game the other day so he at least has some form on the board

Faulkner Vs Siddle

Both similar price. Owning 3 of the top 4 hurricanes batters means I should be hoping the strikers bowlers fail meaning I should lean towards Faulkner. Or do I split the middle and get Siddle? :unsure:
Close for me. Siddle has the extra DGR but Faulkner probably has the better role and some cash gen given his R1 score. I’d maybe base it in what you expect them to score based on their specific matchups.

Reasonably happy with my start to the year, scored 983 for an overall rank of 1,184.
Fantastic to see plenty of good scores floating around the site.

My Current Side is...

Fletcher (Pfeffer)
Short, Maxwell, Stoinis, Salt, Edwards (Turner, Bryant)
Coulter-Nile, Zampa, Boland, Siddle, Ellis (Bartlett, Hussain)

Pre-trades that's 5 DWGs, looking to get that up to the 8 DGWs for R2.

At the moment I'm thinking...

Fletcher ---> Handscomb
Zampa ---> Rashid
Stoinis ---> ADE/HOB BAT

My queries are the following:

Rashid vs. Meredith vs. Faulkner

ADE/HOB BAT, would probably prefer a ADE BAT in Renshaw vs. Weatherald to be able to keep around for the R3 DGW.

Ideally Fletcher would've shown something in R1 and allowed me to hold him this week before turning into Carey R3, and using that trade on another ADE/HOB BAT.

Any thoughts appreciated.
1. R Khan
2. J Faulkner
3. R Meredith

Prefer both Khan and Faulkner over Meredith due to their position in the batting order and higher potential for additional points.

How much remaining salary do you have before executing the 3rd trade involving Stoinis?

Is there any concern over Khan and his two match ups with Hobart this round?
Avg vs Opp is 21.8, I know he's got the double and he hardly has a shocker so the odds of him doing that two games in a row would be rare. They're also playing Briggs and I think I seen somewhere on here before that they played together and it hindered Khans score quite considerably, I know it would be brave to leave him out but would it be insane not too take him this week?

It's a good question but for me, the back to back DGRs are a huge selling point as you have to think he posts some strong scores over 4 games (keeping in mind he's pretty handy with the bat too and should get a hit or two in there as well). It's also a case of who you play instead - do they perform any better? or free up enough cash to be useful? The fact that every man and his dog will have Khan means even if he fails you don't lose much ground, but the opportunity to cash in on not having him if he fails could disappear if the replacement player/players also struggle. I'm all for risk taking and going against the flow, but not getting Khan feels like a whole lot of risk for not much potential reward!

Damn Ncns breakeven is nice, had to kill stoinis to somewhat stick to my plan.
5 Hobart, adelaide, maxwell+ncns

The two double teams playing first and lack of clarity on squads makes it a bit hard to set loopholes this round though

I think that I need to play the break even game this early in the season, particularly when I’m holding Jacks who is likely to lose more value.

Therefore I am going to hold Cartwright, who I was planning to trade, and move him to the bench. It means that I need to look for a cheapie with my third trade and fix Fraser-McGurk. I am guessing Hussain won’t be right by Wednesday, so can use him to play a loop in my bowlers. My thinking is to bring in David and make him emergency - no points expectation, just benefit from his cash gen - I can then loop him with NCN if he does snag another decent score in either of his matches.
