Joe Clarke just gone out to open for Victoria against Rangpur in the GSL final. Will be monitoring... Skeptical about how relevant this will be on a low pitch (chasing 180!) but he hasn't got a huge amount of form to speak of so I'd like to see something.

Keep an eye out on Fabian Allen’s availability. From memory the series WI play ends the day before Strikers’ first game of round 2. Might be touch and go as to whether he plays that one.

Edit: 3rd game of that series is on the same day of the first game of the double. Possibility he may even miss both.
Allen missed selection for Windies last T20s

Might win the final by forfeit , BCB have called up 3 of the Rangpur Riders players for the West Indies series.

CricBuzz saying they need 7 local players , Victoria have been fielding 5 (I guess Edwards could count as the 6th) so not sure why they don't need 7 as well 🤔

Very bizarre
Common sense prevailed , BCB allowed Afif Hossain , Rishad Hossain & Sarkar to play before joining the Bangladesh ODI Squad

Hey Guys,

This is my current team assuming Maxwell & Hardie don’t get up for round one.

Just wanted to see if there’s any issues that are glaringly obvious etc.

Pretty happy to pay up for Short & Overton if the Maxwell/Hardie don’t get up.

Is 5 renegades players too many to start with considering they’ve got a round 3 bye?
Interesting structure.

How much cash do you have left ?

Which Scorchers are you then looking at for Round 2 and who do you trade out to get them eg Curran/Webster + Fraser-McGurk & Sutherland.

Thoughts how the Renegades line-up

Brown
Seifert (WK)
Fraser-McGurk
Evans
Wells (Harvey)
Sutherland
Hassan Khan
Rogers
O'Neill (Sandhu)
Richardson
Zampa

Seifert & Fraser-McGurk could swap around

4-7 could float depending on game circumstance and situation

Still have 3 local spots and a LRP for Lyon to announce

I only have $2,000 to my name as it stands :D

Ideally id like to go something like:
Out: Sutherland, Fraser-McGurk & Brown
in: Hardie, Richardson & Turner

That actually might work , always can adjust Hardie down if necessary.

Not bad at all

Thanks heaps mate! Reckon I’ll leave the team as it is for now until we get some confirmations around teams.

Cheers
Yep

Hoping the Test match stops me from tinkering much , way to many things up in the air at the moment to finalise a side , just looking at a few different structures

How are people thinking about selecting donuts this season?

The back end of the fixture being so SGR heavy suggests that cash gen will be important to allow all the guns to be brought in.

Equally, the relative lack of byes throughout the season, and feeer doubles than normal, means that looping SGR players will be important, and it will be difficult to use bye players in many cases.

I usually favour cash gen early on, but think the second point above is probably more important than the first … especially with some good value on offer early on.

I’m currently leaning towards two floating donuts - one WK and one ALL.

I would prefer to just have the keeper donut in Doran but I'll more than likely end up with another purely because the Hurricanes play last in round 1.

Do not want to get in the position where Doran is named and we're stuck with him as our captain.

At the moment I’m leaning the same way. I’m also considering holding one emergency back from the first game. Whilst all three emergencies going off would be a great problem to have, I think 3 nu*** handicaps your amount of dgw players you can run first 4 weeks.

If my emergencies don’t go off I’ll probably look to limit my nu*** and see what happens. Possibility that I run none if they all suck.

I’m lower on the importance of cash gen. Think you need to go big that first 4 weeks to have any chance of a good year, the variability is a lot less those singles.

My view is that we need to prioritise cash generation.

However, as you know, I like to stay flexible. So, start with no donuts but decide as R1 unfolds depending how your emergencies and VC are travelling.

What scores you do/don’t take will depend on how the popular players that you don’t have are going compared to the lesser popular players you do have.

So my team will be set up to have none, but could end up with one or two.

For the following rounds, that is how I will use my boosts to bring in a donut if needed.

It is one reason that I will run with more Strikers than Scorchers in R1. Scorchers play after Strikers in R2, so we can switch a planned Scorcher trade in to a donut if needed - assuming teams have a few Stars carrying over from R1 and we loop a couple as emergencies in game 1 of R2.

Probably park Doran @ WK2 just in case he does play for Hope (I guess it is between him , Owen & Wakim so don't want to be left with nowhere to go in the last game) so probably need to find another donut in case my 🌟 VC works in the first game)

Generally don't worry about cash generation early (maybe I should) and will probably just follow the fixture Round 2 - 4.

Round 2 3 x MR out for AS/PS

Round 3 Short + 3 PS out for BH/SS (maybe even need to look at Duckett , Maxwell , Webster as well)......could be a huge round.....probably need to Boost

Round 4 ??? out for Short + AS/MR.....maybe another Boost depending on who looks must haves

Like to have a plan but also be able to react and be flexible if necessary

Hopefully the trade outs can generate cash.

Still need to improve my game to use one of these trades each round as a "spare" trade to try and get ahead of the pack.

I guess Round 5 & 6 depending on how many Thunder players we want might give us a couple of options to reset a couple of players , similar to Round 7 & 8 depending on how many Hurricanes we want

If anything like last season need to be in contention after Round 3 otherwise attention will turn quickly to AFL SC 😀
