Nothing wrong with being light on DGR players in R1 if you are focusing to go hard on another round. There will be single players who outscore most double players. The challenge will be snagging them. R1 always throws up surprises, both score wise and player roles in teams, so probably as good a time as any to take a punt. We just need to sort the chaff from the wheat in terms of how we let that influence our targeted trades.
I will need to go through your article on maximising score involvements for the season and see how I am looking in comparison especially for Round 1 to 4 (I calculate 41 as the maximum for these rounds so hopefully have worked it out correctly)

Think you said 54 is the maximum this season , but the starting side doesn't look too flash and trading out 4 Renegades doesn't really allow for Overton , Short and 2 premium Scorchers.

Quick play around I had :-

MR - Seifert (hold for Round 3 WK 2) , next 3 highest priced + Zampa

MS - Cartwright , Curran , Stoinis + 3 cheap bowlers

Don't think we get Bazley & Buckingham so the bench was :-

Inglis
Allen , D Short
Boyce , Thornton
L Pope

Back the quality of a SGR premium over the quantity of a DGR player.

Need to get to the library and finalise my season notes over the next few days so will have a good chance to do some proper forward planning to see how things look

Little confused by the flex position, the player in that position replaces the lowest score in your line-up correct?

currently have matt short as my flex player is that a good idea

I guess technically you are correct, but it doesn’t quite work like that. It is just a 12th on field player and your best 11 scores count. It makes no difference who you put in your Flex position.

imho, considering how much work and effect a good wicket keeper has in a game, it's a woefully underscored position.
A dud wicket keeper could lose any game single handedly and it's not just about a catch or stumping.

For example, wicket keepers could get 2 points for every wide they stop that would most likely have reached the boundary resulting in 5 wides, ie a ball travelling at more than 120kmh past the batsman and 1 point for stopping a high probability 4 wides, being a ball travelling at more than 130kmh past the batsman.

4 points and a happy elephant stamp for stopping any Jhye Richardson bowl that goes past the batsman :).
Yeah I wouldn’t mind seeing the keeper get an extra 5 points for a caught behind dismissal. An alternative would be bonus points for 3 catches in a game too like the wicket bonus.

A fielding bonus wouldn’t be too shabby. We have runs bonus, wickets bonus, why not add it in?

Involved in three dismissals and get an extra 10. Wicketkeepers benefit most but others still do as well.

Not seeing him in many teams, and I know he starts with 2 singles, but man I’m finding it hard to pass up Abbott at 130k
Both Abbott and Jack Edwards are Sixers I’m very very interested in starting.

Round 3 looks like a huge moving round to me. Everyone is going to have the main premiums round 1 and 2, but round 3 you have to pick your poison.

If Webster doesn’t end up starting, I’ll be looking at one of those Sixers rather than taking a punt on another stars player. Edwards probably more attractive to me given his role seems to be a bit high ceiling with both bat and ball.

Featured in several of my iterations as I would like some exposure to the Sixers to start. For $25k less his teammate H Kerr is another Sixer I am strongly considering.

I can’t knock it as it is very similar to how my structure currently sits.

I am not as concerned as @Shaunpro1 about three bowlers from one team if they are on the double, so hopefully getting eight overs each and 20 wickets up for grabs.

The main concern with three Renegades bowlers is due to the R3 bye, however given one is Sutherland, you can easily switch between lines to help in R3.

Maybe overall, see if you can switch one of your Renegades to a Star to give a bit more trade breathing space before R3.
Im only concerned about it because of the bye and Sutherland's fitness levels, if the 3rd was him fully fit with multiple avenues of scoring and DPP I'd be fine with it but the likelihood looks low.

Daniel Sams took 4-22 (3 overs) in a 15 over game yesterday. Would’ve been a minefield given the amount of rain Sydney copped (was the only game in 1st grade that got on) but it’s good to see he’s getting some wickets.

At least we will know the Squad for the 3rd Test earlier than expected 🤗

Hopefully the WI selectors announce their T20I Squad in the next few days.

Then wait for the Shield games to conclude , teams come together.

Internal and practice matches , confirmation on injuries , LRP's to be announced

players to be added

See if the ECB throws us 2-3 curve balls

might just have enough time to finalise a starting side before Game 1 starts

bring it on

Couple of leagues that need filling. Feel free to join:
223103 (2 spots left)
270241 (11 spots left)

Will the official SCS league invitations come out in the next few days?
The first one is now full, but I’ve joined the second. I’ve got him in a keeper league, so the name feels appropriate!

It’s pretty remarkable that it takes an average score per involvement of c. 55 to win SuperCoach.

Only 13 out of 139 players (<10% of the pool) performed at or above that level.

To me this indicates:

(1) That getting the top guns in is very important, to include scores >55 and o***et those that go below that threshold.

(2) Looping is very important, to get some of those low scores off field and replace them with something around that 55 mark on average.

Again, it seems to come down to whether we see more value in the cash gen or the looping.
