SC format is broken. That Agar effort should be worth -30. I mean his garbage essentially lost them the game. He picks up a wicket when the game is over and outscores half of the players lmao

Coming into this round my Thunder options were Billings, who would be massively disadvantaged in a shortened game if Wednesday runs into trouble, and Sams who obviously won't play at all.

From there, after the team was named I felt there were four obvious choices: Warner, Green, DC and Ferguson. Three of those paid off big time. The one that didn't got my VC!

As it turned out going DC over Ferguson was much of a muchness. The cash could be handy though.

Warner excellent. Renshaw great but so frustrating that he couldn’t get on strike at the end there to get 50 runs.

Wasted VC on Green who was putrid. Agar not much better.

Have the E on Billings but expecting to just go with Philippe over him because as I said, I doubt Billings faces another ball this round.

The Warner fade didn’t really work but Ferguson / Christian both ended up out scoring him.

Billings / Green disappointing, but Billings is looped. Johnson phenomenal.

Have to make a decision with Billings before Wednesday’s game to have Billing’s in a second game or roll with Philippe given Doran locks out 3rd game.

Allen (E), Richardson or Zampa (E), Bethell and Sutherland tomorrow.

Johnson excellent. Warner great again, managed to get the 50 this time. Was in consideration with Green for the VC but chose the wrong one. Agar with one of the worst spells of the season, maybe THE worst. Hopefully doesn’t get dropped for Hatcher. Not happy I ended up with Billings, didn’t like the pick but the alternatives at WK aren’t much better! Green bowled well and probably deserved a wicket in his first 3 overs, terrible 4th over. May still take the VC yet. See whether I go for a C in game 2 or 3 of the round, or wait to see Green’s next score then fall back into a Sixer/Star.

Spewing about the rain forecast for Wednesday as I would’ve gotten Ferguson. Fair play to anyone who went for Christian.

I don’t expect a 2nd game for the Thunder so was planning to go light until Christian named and looked likely to bowl a few.

So many catches dropped off my bowlers in the last couple of rounds.

Has anyone done some sort of analysis on how much cash a point is worth? ie I took Gilkes over Warner which was roughly 100k for 25 less points. Curious if there is any data where you’d say “yea that feels like a fair trade-off”.

Should be something like every run conceded past 40 should be -2 or something similar?

They can keep it simple and follow their own formula, 10ER is -10, 12 ER is -20 etc.

But they won’t unfortunately, batsmen SR is the bigger flaw and is a big reason why bowlers dominate in SC.

They really need to bring in negative points for bowlers going over 10 an over. -5 for 10-11, -10 for 11-12 and so on until -20 for 15+.

I'm old enough to remember negative points for ducks... But I don't think there's ever been any for bowling.
