There was a time when I would have totally agreed on the 'no DRS' thoughts, but after getting used to the system and watching the Indian tests, it annoyed the crap out of me when there was no DRS.

Yes, it will have dramas, yes it will cause issues, but it takes out the dodgy calls and provides more strategy to the game. You also quickly figure out who the super selfish players on the team are... *cough Watson cough*

For those that don't like it - would you rather the anti-climax with the use of the DRS, or Australia losing the Ashes due to an absolute umpire howler sans DRS??
Certainly not calling for it to be scrapped. Just puzzled as to why snicko isn't a part of the package; from memory it has something to do with the Indian cricket board and their political games. It should make the most of any and all technology available! Also saying that DRS should be in the hands of the 3rd umpire as opposed to players.

Ashes 2013: Michael Clarke reportedly labels Shane Watson 'a cancer' on Australian cricket team
Updated 9 minutes ago

Australian captain Michael Clarke has reportedly described team-mate Shane Watson as a cancer on the national cricket team.

The revelation came to light in a legal document submitted to a Melbourne court by dumped coach Mickey Arthur, who is seeking up to $4 million compensation or his job back from Cricket Australia.

Arthur is claiming he was racially discriminated against because he is South African and "didn't understand the Australian way".

The Seven Network reported documents tendered to court by Arthur showed captain Clarke and all-rounder Watson were constantly at odds with each other.

Clarke also allegedly described Watson and his faction in the side as "a cancer", with Arthur calling himself the "meat in the sandwich" between the conflicting camps.

"There was major tension between Michael Clarke and Shane Watson," Seven reported from Arthur's document of claim.

Arthur was sacked just two weeks from the start of the Ashes series with CA claiming he failed to resolve discipline issues and a declining standard in the national team.

Darren Lehmann replaced Arthur as coach and saw his side narrowly miss out in a tense, tight Ashes series opener, losing to England by 14 runs.

CA says it is disappointed by the affair but it is confident it will be resolved.

There will be many of you watching this Test, thinking "Yes, we've got ourselves back in it!"
Here is a breakdown of the last 52 Tests played at Lords.

Side batting first in all 52 tests:

22 Wins, 16 Draws, 14 Losses - so the side batting first only loses 30.77% of the time.

But look what happens to these statistics, when the side batting first makes 300+

Side batting first makes 300 or more runs:

16 Wins, 13 Draws, 1 Loss - so the side batting first only loses 3.33% of Tests where they manage 300 or more!!!!

We need to bowl them out very quickly!

Glad I have Bell in the Sportal comp - cover yourself in glory son.

Sad I have Cook as C - I think I am developing a C curse with that comp, last game Clarke sucked it up, hopefully it isn't Cooks turn...

I'm just not paying attention enough around tea time in these two Tests as I'm guessing teams announced around then but I forget about this comp. Last week I had Onions in without knowing what England line-up would be for first Test or even the squad. This week I have Finn too so two donuts. Before I delete my team completely I'll see if the batsmen can do something amazing in 1st innings and overcome carrying two bowlers that not even playing.

Looking forward to tonight, will be watching the cricket and flicking over in the ads to the footy.
Had cricket training and heaps of homework last night so wasn't able to sit down and 'fully' enjoy watching the cricket, now the weekend and most homework already done so a couple of long nights ahead.

Hoping the Aussie's can get the last three wickets pretty quickly, with our fragile batting line-up we don't want to be chasing too much more I wouldn't have thought, even if it is a nice batting deck.

You know I'm a fan of the 'I'm due' theory so I think this trend is due to be broken...but gosh scary numbers those.

Also, well done to Steve Smith taking some wickets after making runs in the first test. Not a huge fan of him but good to see him taking his opportunities. I don't remember him bowling in the big bash though, and here he is taking wickets in the ashes lol

He was also skipper of his BBL team as well so he wasn't giving himself a trundle.
I saw an interview with Harris on the news tonight and he mentioned that Boof is pushing for Smith to keep working on his bowling and getting him overs.

The way we are going England will make us follow on and the test will be over by late tomorrow.
Requiring something huge from Pup and Hads now, the two experienced heads in the side.
