Exactly, we need wins and we are letting this game putter along towards a draw. Sydney is next up, and it almost always rains there.
If it isn’t something like Starc being injured (which we will find out tomorrow, or at the Sydney selection), I don’t see how they could have thought that Boland striking at 15 when the lead was high 200s or better was advantageous to us.
There will always be a risk of losing, we have to take that risk in order to improve our chances of winning.

I actually disagree, I think the match is perfectly poised as it is, as long as they declare overnight.
My yardstick for this is one of the great Test matches I've ever seen, the Phil Hughes Test in 2014. India needed 364 in 98 overs and it went to about the last half hour with them 50 short, on what I'd argue was an even better pitch to bat on.
If we're talking about the championship, India need wins more than us, and would love to wrap the BGT up tomorrow and not have the stress in Sydney. They're 100% going for it.

If they declare overnight, they’ve missed the opportunity to throw the bat earlier, scoring more runs and/or giving more overs to bowl at India, as well as giving them a difficult session to face, with little upside and fresh bowlers heading into a night’s rest.
It’s the batting tempo in combination with the timing of the declaration decision that often seem internally inconsistent. Australia has done this repeatedly for over a decade.

Never will get a fair system until everyone plays everyone else at least once in the cycle (ideally it should be H & A) , will never happen given India & Pakistan refuse to play each other.
Teams need to play minimum 3 Test series for the WTC (won't happen with the Big 3 dictating the schedule) so they end up playing the same number of Tests in the cycle.
