I'm thinking i might fade Salah... lots of value in the mids (Maddison, Bruno, Foden, Saka, Mitoma, etc)
Might go Haaland and Kane up front ?

If I'm paying 14 for Haaland, he's gonna be perma captain. Otherwise I'm better off with Kane and Salah and trying to pick the correct one.
But given City's early fixtures, Haaland is a must.

KDB can be accommodated as he's only 10.5, but with injury doubt, even if he comes back, he could be underdone.

So I'll probably get just Haaland of the over 10 unit players, then get a Rashy / Bruno, maybe 2 of Saka / Marti / Ode / Jesus.

Will stay away from Maddison. Stats are good, and he will have better attackers who can finish off his good work.
But he gets crocked too easily, and I wonder if he'll be hogging all the SPs anyway. Can always downgrade an 8.5 player to him.

TAA a must. Even in a bad year, he scores well for an 8.0 unit player.
Chilwell is better and (slightly) more reliable than James.
Since Unai took over at Villa, Watkins has been a star. I'll pick him and hope his form continues.

Same goes for guys like Enciso and Eze. Finished the year well and if they continue their form, great value.

Mbeumo has some crazy record when Toney has been away. With Toney out, he's a mad bargain at that price if Bees continue their form.

1st draft looking something like this. Lots of unknowns, but I think the price points are correct to allow fluid movement to other usual suspects should I have the wrong player. Got 1.0 ITB, so again, helps with one transfer moves to necessary players.

Get rid of Surridge. He'll be moved on to a Championship side very shortly at NF

He's the least of my concerns given I need a 4.5 filler to complete the team. I think Botman will likely always be the 1st drop to cover.
There's apparently 2 x 4.0 highly likely starting DEF, but I think I'll go for one and pay up for a much better value Botman.

If Surridge does go out on loan, that could be a good thing. The less he's owned, the less likely he is to drop in value.
If there's an expectation that someone will start and they don't, the novices start dumping and the price goes down.
Nothing more annoying when you go to free up 4.5, but it's now 4.4 and you're 0.1 short and need to take a hit.

The 4.0 defenders are likely to consist of the 3 B's from promoted sides...Bell (LUT), Baldock (SHU) and Beyer (BUR).

Botman looks a great shout at 4.5. Have played around with fielding him with 2x 4.0's behind. The thing I don't mind about this is that if the 4.0's do anything they are likely to be heavily traded in which can lead to early price rises (ala the Patterson's, Tsimikas' and Lundstram's of the past seasons). The thing I don't like about fielding Botman is Newcastle have City and Liverpool in the first 3. Then again, Trippier owners are probably relying on attacking returns for 6.5, however the template won't own Trippier.

Bell is at the Gold Cup which may mean he misses the first couple of games too.

All the drafts posted so far look good and pretty standard. It has to be Haaland over Salah for ownership, captaincy and fixtures, and Salah just eats too much budget imo as a 2nd premium option.

Personally I think the best formations are 3-5-2 or 4-4-2. Each to their own if you chase 3 strikers. I'm struggling to find even a 2nd one to trust starting, let alone a 3rd. Preseason matches will help with this.

FPL has become quite big on the social media stage these days. Heaps of broadcasters out there.

I'm a podcast and numbers nerd and I really like what FPL Fran does because of the graphics and presentation. One of many of the YouTube guys that are good at the game.

Here's his initial thoughts on MID & FWD players...price and fixtures.
