If you are comparing Petracca and Dusty you are doing this wrong

Dusty has played 10 seasons. In his first season, Dustry averaged 77.9. Trac's BEST season av every is 81.5.
Dusty's second worse average is 88.5 (third year).

Pick Trac if you think he's gonna break out but keep in mind to even break even with Dusty's floor (Dusty has gone >99 for last 7 seasons) he needs just under a 20 pt jump.
The Darren Burgess preseason 1 effect.
Trac could (and I stress could) be a real beneficiary

Oliver, Viney, Harmes, Brayshaw, Vandenberg.

Don't really see a need for another contested ball winning player in the middle when there's a full crew. Back to the forward line Tracca.

To turn Tom Lynch into Petracca and to maintain my midfield I've also turned Dusty into Hugh Greenwood. This is not final but done to accomodate more expensive rookies like Serong and Starcevich who I might need to pick.

The forward line is now Whit, Greenwood, Petracca, Dev Smith and rookies.

I'm thinking Dusty is definitely a top 6 forward and most likely top 3 but I'm not convinced that he will hurt me by not being in my team early on. I think he will average 100-105 this year. He tends to start slowly as well. The main issue I see with not starting him is you're picking another player who might not necessarily finish as a top 6-8 forward and you're taking up another spot in the forward line which could belong to a better player later in the year (including a potential breakout player). You do this knowing you'll trade Dusty in early on in the year regardless

I do this move knowing that Dusty will be top 6 and I'll need to trade him in, so I'm basically gambling that Greenwood can be top 6-8 with a 95ish average.

Not sure about this but it's the only way I can get Petracca in for now and I don't want to change my midfield five of Jkelly, Cripps, Dunkley, Danger and Oliver.

If Dev Smith doesn't work out as a keeper he should still make close to 100k, which opens up another spot. But I do expect him to be a keeper.

Arguably it’s a minor point, but I just noticed that Petracca is forward only.

Some may prefer him if he was DPP, although I think it also implies that he played <35% midfield last year ... which means the potential upside is greater if he plays significant mid time this year.

maybe you just pick 12 Forward breakouts + Rowell & Pickett and then sideways the ones that fail into premium mids when they drop in $$$

Grundy & Gawn as C/VC each week , that would be one crazy , fun team to have each week

I did the same last night. I had dusty F2 and parish F3 and I have since turned dusty into Petracca which allowed me to turn some suspect mid rookies into Stephens and Serong

I’m also a tigers supporter. Richmond have Jack Ross and Jack Grahram to fit into that midfield that got games but didn’t play in the grandfinal. Also RCD didn’t get a game and is apparently having a ripping preseason after having a great VFL grand final..... therefore I can see them managing dusty.... but I could be wrong

A lot of people suffer from a common SC disease at this time of year. No it is not the Corona virus. It is called WIIM.

What If I Move...

Insidious disease that causes slow changes to the structure of perfectly sound SC teams. Symptoms include remove of perfectly good premiums for players of lesser ability or speculative mid priced teasers. Suffers are often found with glazed over eyes and muttering incessantly "I wish I had another $200,000". Also known to be associated with that other SC disease FOMO.

No known cure although going back to one of your first teams and looking at what you were trying to achieve then as compared to what you have got now has been known to snap some people out of it.

lol .. what about a (SWPP) disease Stick With Previous Prems ....

I say this because the game evolves, players get studied to the enth degree with the advent of media exposure and technology etc ...
- Not many Prems IMO can actually back it up ... to the super Prem level ,,, sure they can go well but most start over priced IMO ..

Hahaha this is too funny.

I've made the executive decision to copy this post to the Absolute Gems thread so if one like wasn't enough, you can go there and like it again!

individually or a couple to a few, okay but all together IMO = disaster
that's what I was thinking , in the back of my mind I will finish (hopefully) with Whitfield , Martin & Heeney so do I lock away 3 now or just take 2 from that list and leave a spot open for the preseason bolter ?

Bonar & Hill could fill F4 & F5 possibly from the start.

I look at it from this angle, with no intention of being rude to any Demons Supporters.

Any Game Vandenberg scores 100 with 70% TOG should not be looked at.

In The Melbourne FWD Line you have Melksham, Weideman, Vandenberg, who gets injured first?. Guess who gets moved back to the FWD line if one of the names mention misses a few weeks with injury.? Too Risky.

Also Harmes was a passenger at the week end, and no Brayshaw either. That wont be the situation come RD1.

my Thinking better value in Smith, Rozee, or Greenwood.

Being new to this forum i hope this makes some sense.
