Lachie Whitfield has been in my side for a long time. I know he's a good scorer / likely to be number 1 fwd etc.

BUT

He is also currently priced close to the highest than any price he's ever achieved. And at that time, he scored 45 and missed the next 2 weeks.

I can't help but feel I'm better spending my money elsewhere.

Who do you start in his place though ?

Son Son & Dusty are "only" 60k cheaper ?

Heeney , Ablett , Tobias Greene maybe

or take a punt on any one of the 25+ mid priced options that has been mooted to break out ?

A midfielder in the Forward lines capable of going 110+ seems a set and forget option to start imo

that 45 even makes him underpriced

I guess at the end of the day it depends on where you use the "saved" $$$

If you expect him to register similar 150+scores to last year (3 between 152-170).

I need some help with the love for Darcy McPherson.
I can see the love for the Brayshaw, Petracca types because of increased stoppages or more time on ground etc but I'm a bit more circumspect on an opportunistic role in pre season games because we know they are much softer games.
His time on ground is already decent and he was already the third highest ball collector at Gold Coast last year.
Has he had a change in role? Is he doing something specifically different to what he did last year?
I can see Gold Coast going a bit better but how does he get to 100.

132 and 127 in the pre-season. Doubt they will get many games of that standard in the regular season, it's just how much he drops by. Improved his average from 60 to 81.7 last year, 90's look possible, 100+ is probably pushing it.

He started playing more of a high hf/mid role towards the end of last year, with a high tackle count iirc. I was following his RDT numbers more than his SC numbers (for DFS).

F7 King

just looks wrong
Looks even worse now that you have to draw a line through Hill (quad).

King has a heavy dose of the yips with his kicking for goal which drags down his scoring potential a fair bit.

Rankine will be good though - should be in the round 1 team.

I am working on a master plan to counter the (lack of) rookies.

Will be a hero or fall in a heap ?

I also remember Jack Martin was going to be the next Leigh Matthews!
