What do people think Wells can average in the first 8 rounds or so?
Anywhere between 80-95 I reckon.

Has everyone got him at F4 or F5?
Got him in at the moment at F4.
Franklin's back in my team.
Franklin's been at F4 for a while now, with Wells at F5 for the last week.

I like the look of a 4.5 deep forward line, with Franklin in there. Dusty and Barlow locked like most. I'm thinking one of the Port trio (nod to Wingard atm) or Tippett as the other.

Also had Franklin at F4 for a while. Wells was sitting at F5 until about a week ago and now he goes and looks bloody beautiful...just makes it more difficult :p

So happy to have him back :)

The Daniel Wells discussion reminds me of Shaun Higgins version of 2014. Higgins was cut down with injury in 2013 and only played 3 games for the year, with an average game count of 17-18 for the period between 2009-2012. His highest average year was in 2009 where he averaged 89.0 from a total of 17 games, and has established his scoring in the 80-85 mark. He was priced at $254,600 going into 2014 and could be selected as a FWD only from memory. He ended the 2014 season with 20 games at an average of 76.4, the table below provides a summary of his SC scores and prices throughout that season. His average peaked at 87 in round 11 and would've made you a handy profit of $175,500 if you traded him out that round. I did not start with him, but he was not a complete failure for those that did.

There's a little bit of 'deja vu' with the Daniel Wells situation of this year. He has been cruelled with various injuries over the past 2 years, 7 games in 2014 and 2 games in 2015. The 4 years prior, he played 81 of a possible 88 games for a combined average of 97.0, with 2011 being his highest where he averaged 104.2 from 21 games. When fit, he has shown that he can average 90-95.

So what to expect of Wells in 2016 if fit? I'd say that it's reasonable to expect him to average 80-85 and make you around $150,000 by around the midpoint of the season. I don't think he'll end up being a Keeper in the forward, so you either have to trade him or if he can repeat Higgins feat in 2014, than can be a handy F7/M9 backup towards the later part of the season.

I think treating him as a premium rookie is the way to go. Don't get too attached and slaughter him when the times right. It's easy to be hopeful he'll be a keeper, but I think there's more chance of him needing to go at some point.

Buddy to be used in the midfield?

@FantasyFreako: Report from @neilcordy suggests that Buddy could play through mid & be used at centre bounces like Roughead. #AFLFantasy #SuperCoach

He might be close to lock if he has stints in the mids. Bring back the pre Syd form!

Half sydney's team is expected to play in the midfield. I have no idea what to think to that. Buddy may be in the middle if there is a bounce AFTER the original centre bounce and someone was tackled.

Will Bennell become a lock for anyone if he plays 1-2 NAB games and lines up Round 1? I think if he'd been fit all pre-season he would be a no brainer.

Goes into the midfield, lays a dangerous high tackle, gets weeks.

If I knew he was going to be fit all season, then he would be a no brainer for me. At his price I think he is a bit risky for my starting team, but he could be a good upgrade target if his price drops to around $500k at some stage.

Yeah good call, I'll seriously consider if he lines up Round 1 though

Yes, there are probably some good arguments for/against picking him. I couldn't fault you for starting with him, especially if you have avoided too many risks elsewhere in you team :)

Didn't the Hawks also try this a few years ago with Buddy?

his a wait and see..with libba entering the team his role may change..apparently he has been training with the forward group. he might relieve the midfielders but i wouldnt think he will be permanently in the midfield. i would expect dollhouse to avg 95-105.

I would like to say that Dahl will get a lot of mid time but I have no idea. He seems a safe bet compared to other players in the forward line.
