Nick Reiwoldt becomes a point of interest given that he will be going up to a wing. Has the game suited to SC scoring as his career shows and even at 33 I think he is well under value. Playing every game is the only concern like Bartel.

Thoughts??
Have also thought about this as a potential POD option...

At his price you really need to make sure he averages 90+ from 22 games. 92+* from 20 games or 95+* from 18 games.

* Using PIT70 (rookie score) as a replacement for the games he misses.

92*20 = 1840
1840+70+70 = 1980
1980/22 = 90

It's a similar thing for Bartel. However, Bartel will attend stoppages and has more ability to get 25+ possessions consistently. I think Bartel at almost the same price is likely 5-10ppg better value.

Is anyone considering starting 4 forward rookies (or less than $250,000)?? Is it too risky?
There are just so many cheap players in the forward line compared to anywhere else and so many underpriced players in other areas compared to the forward line. Seriously contemplating it!

If i didn't find my Mega POD up forward, then i probably would have 4 rookies instead of 3.

Stevie J = blergh.

Still smarting over the stupid choice in from choosing him over Selwood a couple of years back... Note I got Selwood as well, just a week too late...

Anyone think Stevie J can be a top 12 averaging FWD? i.e. average of 95+
He prob avs 95 from 16-18 games. Not enough for me to pick him as a keeper but as a starter to upgrade later is a possibility. Could get a good head start if he turns it on early

Reminds me a bit of the Chapman to Essendon scenario a couple of years ago. Smashed it early from memory.

I hopped off Buddy, after previously declaring him a lock. However, it was mainly a structural thing for me rather than his poor NAB (NAB shouldn't matter one bit for Buddy). With all of the likes of Cockatoo, Menadue, Kerridge, McCarthy looking like decent forward rookie options (also keeping in mind the likes of Bennedy, Wells, Duggan), I added another premium to the defence and chopped Buddy. Depending on if an extra backline rookie pops up (with Broad looking a bit less likely) might bring Buddy back. I hope he has another poor NAB to bring his ownership numbers down as that was a factor too.
Same. Buddy got the chop as my least preferred forward when I added a def premium to cover an apparent absence of rookies. I went with Birchall, who I'm not overly happy with, both standalone and vs Buddy - but the forward rookies look a lot better to me, so it's the best I can come up with for now.

Harley Bennell anyone?

Havent even seen him in a "Rate My Team" team yet.

Apparently going to play NAB 3, which to me would indicate he will be good to go R1 of season proper. Has his off field issues of course, but you cant argue with his flat scoring.

They were saying on SEN last night that there were good vibes coming out of the Freo camp about him. Michael Johnson and Michael Walters have taken him under their wing and have taught him the "Freo Way."

He could turn out to be an inspired pick. Walters and mj may have taught him the freo way, but unless they have a magical cure for a dodgy calf, Bennell is still a risky proposition

I currently have 5 starting.... not sure it'll stay that way but not many rookies in other lines giving me much confidence at this stage.

He obviously has the ability to rack up some really nice scores and moving to a new team might help but it comes back to games played, and he only managed to play 22 games in one season and that was back in 2012. On average he misses 7-8 games a season over a 5 year career and I don't reckon that can be ignored and I don't think he will change that this year either.

Love the way he plays though.

Seasoned training watchers have him the best player at Freo ....

Bennell definitely a wait & see upgrade target for me. I had him all season last year and he was great to watch when he was on field (had like 3-4 120+ games from memory). His soft tissue injury history is a big worry for me at his price, especially with the interrupted preseason.
A lot of good fwd line rookies makes it harder to start him too.

Yep that is correct! I got on Chappy from the word go that year and was very pleased with myself for the first month... a few weeks after that I was cursing the man's name, with his dodgy hammies and low mid time
